FRiSson - How do you like the Michelin Pilot Super Sports? Did you get 215/45-17 or 225/45-17?

My FR-S came with Bridgestone Tauranza EL400-2 all-weather instead of the Michelin Primacy's that are standard in many cases. Does anyone have a comparison of the OEM Bridgestones vs. the OEM Michelin? I definitely plan on PSS's when I do replace my tires.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport as3 on mine and I absolutely love them.
Good grip in dry and almost just as good in the wet, can barely even tell the roads are wet. Handling is exceptional with these tires.
The ride comfort is good and no excessive noise.

Etherdude, I got the 225's because Tirerack had them in stock, but had no delivery date for the 215's. I have only driven about 250 miles on them, mostly highway. I can say that they are pretty loud, but it is kind of a "white noise" whooshing sound - not bad. They track extremely well, and give me a sense of confidence in heavy rain that I never had with the stock Primacys. Ride is much improved, with less harshness in the bumps (But, I don't know if that is just because they are new and have more tread?). The 225s seem to fit well, with a little bulge over the stock wheels, a slightly more aggressive look to my eye. To me, the Primacys always had a kind of skittishness at higher speeds and in the rain. They got "light" feeling and it became hard to gauge how much grip was left. From all indications so far, the SS's are much more tenacious and solid feeling. I'll try to write again after a few thousand miles.

I've been very happy with my new Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires.

I've seen no decrease in mileage, they are noticeably quieter and provide a better ride than the Primacies.

I bought my 2015 FR-S a few weeks ago, swapped out the Primacy HPs with Continental Extremecontact DW's and couldn't be happier. They provide you with a lot of grip in the dry while maintaining a smooth, quiet ride. The car's cornering ability has improved a LOT over the stock tires. In the rain, these tires stick like nothing I've ever driven before. Skidding and hydroplaning are nonexistent, even at high speed and relatively sharp corners.

I may eventually upgrade to PSS's but for under $400 a set, you absolutely cannot beat the DW's.

Mpg's are down between 5-10% with the MSS 225's.

Nitto Invo's I run those. Grip is slightly better then OEM (not as much as I wanted) they are very quite, ride better then OEM and are amazing in the rain. I love them!! I never watched my MPG because racecar so I cant comment on that. Side wall seems a little soft IMO but overall these are some of the best DD tires I have been on.

One negative to the DW is a soft sidewall. Turn in will not be as sharp/crisp.
