this almost made it into the 'today i learned' thread, but it's more of a story.
monday, the Midwest IEC(Independent Electrical Contractors) had a school open house. food, vendor booths, prizes. i go anywhere there's free food. talking to the local milwaukee tools rep, i asked about where the milwaukee electric lawn mower is. (dewalt's had theirs on the market for nearly 2-ish years now). he said they've finally got a release date now of 2022. to distract me, he started trying to show me some of their MX-battery stuff, which is a extreme-capacity battery, but an entirely different platform from their standard lines. he had with a tripod light, and a generator to show off. as he's demoing it, he tried implying that the mx series batteries would be perfect to use for the lawn mower, as it's got a much larger capacity than their standard 18-volt battery series. i 'accidently' blurted out, "well if you're going to force me into an entirely different battery platform that doesn't work with anything else, i might as well get the dewalt lawn mower that's already out and be done with it." the phrase 'kicking their puppy' doesn't quite describe the look he had on his face at the time. he did manage to recover a little by showing me the newest model of hammer drill they're going to be selling soon..

I think it's Makita who just puts two of their 18v on some saws and I don't even remember what else? Seems a pretty smart move.

I would have said worse. I hate when tool companies do that. Gives me another reason to try a different brand.

Here is my latest mystery. One of my trucks has this strange water trickling like sound coming from the dash. I looked on line and it said possible air in cooling system heater core caused by leak, or A/C drain clogged. I marked the coolant level about a week ago and no movement, and no visible sign of leak anywhere. I don't know where the A/C drain is, gotta find it.
Anyone have a better guess? |

it was a very common issue with a lot of people i knew with 90's GM vehicles. but i don't think any of them ever attempted to diagnose or correct it.
could try burping the coolant system on full-heat in the cabin? i want to say some of the ram's had issues with the hvac coolant connections leaking over time, and it would develop bubbles in the core.
