Best turbo for torque

My goal is to make 210-240 whp and make as much torque as possible. Whats the best setup for this? Has anyone ever made more torque than HP with these motors or is that not possible? Most racing classes uses HP/Weight and I want to stay in the classes I'm currently competing in without having to add too much ballast

If you want to make more torque then HP, set your rev limiter to 5252.

Making the torque is easy. Making the powertrain survive that torque is not.

Have you previously owned any turbocharged cars? Boosting a NA car is typically very different from increasing the output of a factory turbocharged car.

With that low of a power goal, I'd start with a custom gear set and a highest final drive you can get to see where you hit. You'll also then be potentially bulletproofing your drivetrain.

Next up is the engine. Your going to need to forge the bottom end. Ise this time to double down on either a stroker/capacity kit or big bore block. Unless you go custom you wont really find any cams that will aid you.

From there you will be able to see what forced induction kit (read:turbo size) you need to use to meet your goals; slowly upping the psi until you hit your power targets. Once you hit the top of your torque cure your tuner can use an ebcs to bleed power off the top end.

Finally, congrats ---you've just spent way too much money

Sounds like you want a turbo diesel with a long stroke and a 3200 redline.

Use a inlet restrictor like the older 2lt WRC cars. They had mountains of torque and bugger all power. You might need antilag to keep it usable tho.

Just don't forget the washers.

^^This

I had a 3.727:1 final gear ratio before switching to a 4.3:1 ratio. The difference in torque was VERY noticeable. It's like you get more power. Like a 2.5 liter engine.

Same could be achieved if someone goes from a 4.1:1 to a 4.8:1 ratio. The 4.8 final gear option is still usable on a light-tuned NA car.

I'm not looking to make significantly more torque than Hp like a diesel. Just as much as possible. IE: the nissan 2.5 i had in my sentra makes 175 hp and 185lb/ft torque from factory NA. I already have a 5.3 final drive and thought about a custom gearset but it seems like going FI would be more cost effective. Ive never owned a FI car so this is all new to me. Theres an STI that used to come to the events i go to, that was detuned to make around 300whp but made around 350 lb ft of torque with a restrictor plate and the owner claimed it was really reliable, so that sparked my interest. I assume that's not possible with our cars without fancy expensive trickery since everyone is somewhat flaming me. Lol

To clarify a little more. If I can make 210 whp and and at least 200 ft/lbs of torque, I'd be super happy. Im just trying to figure out if thats possible or not

I think you have a misunderstanding of what torque and HP are/do. HP is just the mathematical relationship between torque and RPM.

https://powertestdyno.com/how-to-calculate-horsepower/

You can achieve what you want power wise ALMOST with e85 and a good header (about 10hp shy), or if you trust CSG you can hit it with an ace header, fp and e85. Torque will hit ~170 ft/lb. You're going to need forced induction to make 200lb/ft.

You can easily get 200lb ft out of turbo setup, but you're going to have to restrict it pretty heavily in the upper rpm range. If you're making 200lb/ft throughout the entire rev range, you'd be making 285whp at 7500rpm (200x7500/5252)
