Off throttle resonance at ~2900rpm

If I go off throttle at 3000rpm and slow down, around 2900 rpm, i get a strong resonance/vibration from the engine. Happens in different gears and only off throttle. Definitely from the engine compartment. This is after the recall. It didn't do this before the recall. Ideas? The video I have doesn't really capture the sound well.

Then I don't know what we're supposed to guess at.

Could be a heat shield on the exhaust manifold, but since the engine was just apart for a procedure that we know is problematic, can we really play it off lightly like that?

Go back to the dealer that did it.

I will go back. No heat shield as there is a header. The vibration is from in front, not underneath. I've heard exhaust rattles. This is an engine vibration.

Engine mount installed upside down? Somebody here discovered that after noticing the engine was crooked.

Loose?

I would guess an issue with the motor mounts. Drive it with a tech at the dealer and see what they think.

I don't know how they pull the engine - do they leave the transmission attached?

What happens if you push the clutch pedal in during the resonance? If it is only when the engine is connected to the driveshaft they could have not lined up the driveshaft back to its original orientation on the diff.

It's at the dealer right now. Foreman did a ride with me and heard the sound. He seemed to think it's an exhaust rattle, but they have techniques to figure it out.

Putting the clutch in would kill the sound because the revs would immediately drop. There's no way to stay at 2900 rpm with no clutch in and no gas.

Well, I went in for the odd sound off throttle at 3000rpm. They did a bunch of listening and found a crack on my aftermarket header that I'd asked them to swap out during the original work but they hadn't done. Anyway, the car is great now, with no weird noises. Purrs like a kitten. Also no oil leaks anymore thanks to their work. So I'm happy. One Toyota of Oakland. The best service adviser ever is there, Chase. Super happy to work and stick with him.

Just a little more to add. I think they may have cracked it while removing the header to do the engine work. However, I can't blame them. This EL Borla has been through a lot, including several different owners.
