Haha bro I had my dad following me once and literally pulled me over because my headlights were not on. Unrelated just thought it was funny.

I know how to fix this. People think it's the weather stripping and yes it can be but for me it wasn't (the TSB posted on here isn't involved in my fix either). I fixed it last year through a very long process of trial and error but never posted about it because I wanted time to pass before I claimed my fix worked. Ultramaroon helped at first and then I took it from there.
I have a TON of pictures documenting the process....one day soon I might post it up (work is terribly busy right now). Also, it should be noted that there's misinformation on this forum regarding this problem.

It was the guide change TSB that worked on mine. Not the weather strip one.
Doesn't seem to work for everybody though so you will be a hero if you do a DIY that does work!

I've had the car for more than 3 years so I'm guessing it's out of warranty right?

Only 30min one morning? 80+% of SUVs around here have high beam on full time. They're behind you, coming at you in the opposite direction, right next to you flooding your side mirror etc.

And once I was in the left lane at a traffic light. The SUV on the left turn lane rushed up half a car length ahead then started nudging into my lane without signal. I honked, then the guy (person?) signaled and started forcing his(?) butt into my left front corner. When you're in an SUV, nothing lower than eye level can possibly exist right?

Hey mom, look at those dots of light floating in the middle of the road. They're hardly moving! That's *so* freaky. Is that what they call Willow the Wisp? Run through them. I want to see!

By the book, yes, you're stuck with it. However, it's been my experience with other Toyota TSB's that there's some flexibility baked into the system.

If you're the original owner with documented compliance with Toyota maintenance requirements, it's worth asking the service manager for a review of your problem with the Regional Parts & Service Manager for reimbursement. They may not offer 100% reimbursement but anything helps.

It also helps if you're working through the original selling dealer who will want to please a loyal customer.

The chances of approval increase if you're out of warranty in only one of two ways, either time or mileage. If you're out both ways, don't bother.

I was successful in getting a new clutch on my Toyota truck that was out on time but in on mileage when clutches are considered normal wear items and almost never replaced under warranty. But they stepped up and reimbursed the job 100% with an improved clutch, slave cylinder and TO bearing per the TSB. It helped that I had a great relationship with the service manager and lead technician since I always brought a dozen donuts to a service appointment.

I had zero luck with this with the tail light condensation. Followed everything you said, less than 200 miles out of B2B warranty and both dealer and Toyota/Scion denied it.

So, YMMV

The general rattle trap of the dash and door panels. It's only gotten worse with each year. I'm hoping a proper sound insulation project in the future can cut down on atleast some of the moving mystery rattles and vibrations. It is embarrassing when you have a passenger. You can't drown out the rattling with music because the bass makes it 10x worse.

Were they Krispy Kremes?

Out of warranty help when located in one of the two private distributor service areas, Southeast Toyota or Gulf States Toyota, is rare.

There are cases like yours on other forums where owners are denied help in the PD's while owners in a factory owned region get compensated.

@funwheeldrive, like me, is located in a factory region that makes our chances a little better.
