Unfortunately it has always been bad. I lived on 10th st. For a couple years in college. Hated it, and that was in '84-'85. I'm sure it is much worse now. I'm sure your new place will be much better. Nice area.

that's going to be single phase. in car charger terms, 120 is limited to about 12A charge rate at best, 240 is single phase level 2, and has multiple different actual charge rates(iirc, 240v tesla home chargers can be set to 3 different charge rates), and then 3-phase tends to be called 'dc fast charging'.

i think 3-phase 240 is too confusing to the general public. humfrz is still working on that dent in his bumper, i'm sure not walking him through how to use a phase converter!

Yeah, and it seems to have only gotten worse since I first moved here for SJSU too.

Good call.

CAUTION: If you are obtaining a loan to buy your house - DO NOT make any major purchases prior to closing, as they may effect your eligibility/qualification for the home loan.

Yup I know. That’s what they told me too. Either way, it’s all depends on how far the new house gonna be to my work. If it’s close, I won’t need new car for a while. If it’s far, I’ll buy one after buying the new house.

Phase converter? -

I had enough problems with 220>110 converters when I lived in Germany. Yep, the old electric clock, when plugged straight into 220, ran twice as fast till it started smoking and caught fire.-

Sadly none of those out today while scoping out the property. Damnit COVID, preventing all the babes from sunning themselves out by the pool!!

Few issues.
1. I need it for commute, but also need it as a family car to carry a baby once a while.
2. Range isn’t that good.
3. Dealer isn’t in my state.

He's gonna be a daddy! That's an enclosed motorcycle with zero safety features. Get rear ended in that in traffic, and it'll take them an extra few hours to figure out there was someone between the 2 other vehicles the were called out for

Come to think of it, you might have even known someone with a phase converter.. they're real popular for farm equipment to convert single phase power to 3 phase power for silo lifts and the like.

It's a motor without an output shaft- it takes 240 in, and the uses re motor winding s to make 3 phase 240 out. Still one of the oddest mechanical/electrical things I've worked on.

Definite "hell no" on the Solo. The Tofino and eRoadster look pretty cool though.

They're calling for a massive snow storm here tonight. Supposedly 12" or more.

Check back, my bet is we don't get more than 4". Chicken little has got nothing on the media lately.
