That 2L turbo has been putting out upwards of 280hp for a few years now, much more with a tune. Probably won't take GM much to bring it in line with with the mustang's 2.3 ecoboost.

The more important question is whether they can get this under 4000lbs, or even under the 3800lbs of the new mustang.

I saw some of those pics the other day. It seems to be somewhat physically smaller than the current car. However, the beltline still appears to be far too high to afford good outward visibility, which was the sole initial reason that I ended up in a Mustang in the first place.

I really like the last generations retro styling across all the muscle cars.

But they're pigs, I can't get excited about them even with 700+ horsepower or a handjob machine I just can't bring myself to be interested in current and near future muscle cars.

Massive upside is the Turbo Four Bangers are finally delivering on the promise of what the industry rumors were 5-10 years ago: High Power, High Efficiency and with the Muscle cars incorporating them hopefully they aren't lame ducks like they were in the 70's and 80's. Those 300 horsepower four bangers delivering low 30's and high 20's mpg's are great for when they decide to continue with the Focus/Fiesta ST and add performance to the other regular cars: sedans, wagons, trucks etc.

Give me a Ford Ranger/Chevy S10 with the 2.3L Eco-whatever under 3,200 lbs. and the same exterior dimensions of 25 years ago.

well it's been that way since the 60's so why stop now?

I mean the battle officially ended in Australia because Holden's stopping production. And even then, the fans of each are still judging each other based solely on whether or not they're a "Ford bloke" or a "Holden Bloke"

the point I'm trying to make is the Ford/GM rivalry is the stuff of legends and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Oh I know! I apologize if you detected any sarcasm. I'm all for competition pushing the market. The true winners in a situation like this are the consumers. Well depending on the price....

It is going to be sooooo awesome since the are benchmarking it against a Volkswaegn Gulf which is seen in picture number 2!

Just like how toyobaru benchmarked against a Cayman S.

2016 Camaro

I was waiting for this day. Finally they are reducing the monstrous 2010 style Camaro down. This is what it would take to get me back into a Camaro like my '02 SS I had. Hopefully they learned a lesson from this generation with blind spots and view area from the drivers seat. The CTS/ATS chassis will hopefully be a nice weight reduction. I've admired the performance of the Cadillac models but the aesthetics of getting smoked by a grandma's car just kills it for me.

They'll probably follow Ford's strategy with a turbo 4 cylinder, V6, and V8 models to compete overseas mainly with the turbo 4. I've always had a special desire for a Camaro mainly because the '69 Camaro SS is my dream car to own. This is the only relative picture I found that may be close to it:

Thoughts?
