Hybrid FRS would be pretty sick

Got some new tires over Labor Day weekend from Discount Tire Direct, BFGoodrich G-Force Comp 2 A/S https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...-2-a-s/p/29878 They matched Tire rack's $119./tire price plus took the $70. rebate off. Had them shipped to a local Discount Tire store for installation, no tax, free shipping. Took a road trip over to Asheville, NC through the Smokies. Like the tires, very grippy.

Installed the Subaru one piece Center Panel Assembly. Cheapest I could find it was from here: https://www.subarupartsource.com/oem...-ay-66077ca201 $118.78 shipped, got it in 4 days. Fits perfectly. Looks good, matches my other red stitched parts. The new part number is 66077CA201.

Fully electric would be amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to drive some really nice hybrids (i8, NSX) as well as some “normal” hybrid cars and they’ve never really excited me I guess they’re cool in their own way and I appreciate the environmentally friendly-ness or whatever, but meh. Topic for another thread, but I’m not sure if I’d ever bring myself to purchase an electric or hybrid car. Not an expert on any of this by any means, but I would imagine an electric FRS would be a beast.

I just figure out wouldn't take long for someone to figure out how to put a turbo on it

And then, we will have "motor swaps" instead of engine swaps -

Soooooo awesome!!!! Your car looks great, love the yellow headlights. I imagine the twins on a track are like an energetic dog that is taken off it’s leash. It can stretch it’s legs and wag it’s tail.

I wouldn’t want a EV 86/BRZ It would be faster, but so much would be missing. Accelerating in a dual motor Tesla 3 is pretty amazing, but it’s so.....numb? Granted I haven’t been able to drive something like the new NSX.

Ya, and what about the lack of exhaust note? I reckon the aftermarket will supply some sort of electric, variable pitch, variable "speed", sound generating thing -

I was just talking to my coworker (Tesla owner) about this. They could add a fake tach and paddles. Then use speakers to emulate engine sound and animate the tach. They could even use the motors to produce a jolt to emulate the shift. Kind of lame but less lame than mute. I was watching that Porsche Taycan lap around the ring and it’s so strange to see him throwing it around without sound.

Turbo S, such a stupid naming convention.

Like the Incredible Hulk. Don't let the "sports cars shouldn't weigh more than 2500lb" crowd hear you. Not sure what the model 3 battery weighs but the S battery back is 1200lbs.
