Hi all, lurker for some time now, finally joining in. Original owner of a 2014 BRZ Dark Gray Metallic. Fairly new to modifying cars, and learning a lot reading the forums, hoping to not just ask questions, but to contribute too.

Hey everyone. Been lurking here for over a year reading up on twins. I drive NB Miata which spoiled many cars for me and it was hard to find something that is next step without sacrificing responsiveness and weight. Toyobaru became my #1 choice. Finally, couple days ago, I picked up a 2015 BRZ Limited in CWP. Got it salvage from my trusted source with only 6k miles. I have modding plans for it and since I have been self-proclaimed knowledgeable mechanic for over a decade now, clean title didn't make sense for me.

Hi guys, just joined and ready to start a great project. On Friday I ordered a 2017 Limited BRZ with the performance package. Beyond excited to get in the 86 family. I'm a Chicago local and have plenty of 86s here. The car gets here in October and it can't come fast enough

Hey all, I've been lurking around here for at least a year or so, but I may finally be getting close to getting a BRZ with the 2017 refresh. This will be my first car, actually, as I haven't really needed one up to now. Frankly, I still don't need a car, but I feel like I'm getting a little old not to have one (and to be fair, I've really wanted a BRZ and can afford one).
Lots of great info here, and hopefully I'll be contributing a little from here on. |

Got tired of waiting for 2017 so I took my Crosstrek in and turned it into a 2016 BRZ in Pure Red. Love the car. Absolutely loving it.

Haha i was kinda the same. Was really debating waiting for the new model but with how much money i saved at the dealership (they really hooked me up) and with how much the new model was going to be i decided to get the 2016 and use the extra money to mod it out. Congrats on the new BRZ. The red is absolutely stunning!

Hello All,
I recently purchased a used 13 BRZ Limited MT. I have been interested in these cars since they first came out. I didn’t pull the trigger earlier because I live in NH and tend to stick with AWD or 4WD cars for winter as I don’t want to have to have 2 vehicles. This is my 4th Subaru, 03 WRX, 12 Legacy, 15 STi now the 13 BRZ. I owned an original 1985 Corolla GT-S (AE86) as a project car, sold it after a few years of sitting around. I have had the BRZ about a week and I love the way it handles and feels straight out of the box, I’d be hard pressed to say it doesn’t feel just as good if not better in the twist’s as the STi which had suspension work done. I haven’t really pushed it to the limit yet as I’m still getting used to the car, but so far I am very impressed. As many mention it’s not the fastest car but its fast enough to still be fun and I didn’t buy it to drag race. I don’t have much planned for the car yet, I want to keep it simple with a few bolt on’s. Im happy with the purchase so far and I am looking forward to being a part of this community and learning a new platform. |

Hi!
I bought a 2016 BRZ back on 7/2/2016. I'm the former admin of www.preludeonline.com I come from a 2001 Prelude-> 2005 Legacy GT. I thought my "messing around with a car" days were over and that the most fun I'd have these days on four wheels was skateboarding but here I am. |

Hey Everyone! New BRZ owner here from Delray Beach Florida. Excited about the new car.....well new to me. It's a 2013 Premium that had only 9k miles on it! I got it to replace a 2007 Mercedes SLK 280 I had. While I loved the SLK, being 10 years old I think it was a good time to get rid of it before any large repair bills came in. As you all probably know parts and repairs on Mercedes can be costly, especially if the retractable hardtop goes.
Going from 228HP from the SLK to 200HP in the BRZ, well not too much of a difference. I think the throttle of the BRZ is more responsive. And the BRZ is more of a true sports car then the SLK. As far as mods, tinted the windows and installed that OEM armrest. Planning to put in a sub-woofer next. Well the required photo.... ![]() |
