Future Repainting
Im planning to repaint my FRS after a give months to a year.
Can anyone give me an estimate on what it would cost to repaint a whole FRS(Argento) into the World Rally Blue? |

Prices vary from different areas. But since you are planning on changing the colour, expect at least $4500-$5000 for it to be done properly. This isn't including the engine bay.

That is a good estimate. I hang out at my buddy's auto body and paint shop all the time. If you want a respray, (the same color) you don't have to paint the door jams, the trunk, and under the hood. But since you want a totally different color, it will be costly. If the car is fairly new, we suggest to sell it and buy the color you want. Unless you want a totally custom color. Then go for it!!!

You have to be making at least $125,000/year to spend money so foolishly.

You would be way better off just selling and buying a WRB BRZ.
To do a proper respray you really need to take the whole car apart. Remove all bumpers, panels, interior pieces. Basically anything you can take off you take off. Then you paint and reassemble. To do this costs about 4 to 6 grand depending on color and how many stages it is. What about just getting a vinyl wrap? |

What I would suggest you should have done before getting the FR-S is get a WRB BRZ because, as you have said, you wanted the colour. Why did you get an FR-S? Since you didn't get a BRZ, I wouldn't suggest painting. Think about it, it'll be only a year or so old, the paint's not going to be terrible. It would be a big waste to repaint a fairly new car with fairly good paint.
It can be the same or even better , but it will be very costly. |

How would a matte black finish look on an FR-S? Any ideas?

Someone did a matte grey vinyl wrap on his FRS, its in the DIY section under vinyl wrap your car.
PS to the OP, just sell your car and buy the Subaru, it will cost like 5-6 grand to do a decent job, maybe even more PLUS you will have lowered the value of your FR-S on-top of it all. Or fake an insurance claim, roll your car, pair your deductable and get it all resprayed by a shop who agrees to repaint your car in another colour within the adjusters quote (most likely fraud on their part, as well as yours) So in short..sell your car

Why didn't you just buy the WRB BRZ instead?!?! If you are going indeed have it resprayed, take off as much as you can before you drop it off.
I would think that Toyota/Scion would bring a blue FR-S soon just like the tC
