Just too add a data point; sold my FRS, moved to England for work & picked up a 2011 Cayman 2.9 because it was the same price as a 2017 GT86.
The Cayman's 2.9 sounds amazing, pulls beautifully, people seem to love it... but it is very weird getting used to a car with no weight on the front. It's much faster and goes around corners well, but you can't set it on the edge and play with it like the 86. I honestly miss the 86. Weirdly I've seen hardly any '86s at the trackdays here in UK, they don't seem to get much love over here. |

For this reason, you see less Caymans on the roads or at track days downunder, and tons of Twins absolutely everywhere. Seems to be the opposite in the UK, and price would be the main reason. Aussies get absolutely ripped off on P-cars here. It’s a shame, I’d love to own a Cayman, but even second hand they are absurdly expensive here. |

Yeap its true, there aren't many here, they didn't sell well which is a shame. The BRZ is even rarer with less than 900 registered in the UK. I think the primary reason is we are a strong 'Hot Hatch' country, sports cars in general aren't that popular not to mention a lot of people couldn't get past the lack of power.

Literally sold a 2009 Boxster S to get into a 2022 BRZ. Had a 2015 BRZ in the past.
Almost bought another 2019 BRZ with track package in 2019, ended up going with the Boxster. Worked out fine, turned a small profit on the Porsche due to crazy used car prices. I won't miss the expensive maintenance, tires, and possibilities of an expensive parts failure. Only miss the effortless acceleration.
