From what I understand disconnecting the battery also resets it

I had reached out to ProClip a couple of times and while they plan to create custom mounts for the BRZ / GR86, they don't have one available yet. I kept on forgetting my phone in the cup holders since I was using the USB port in there for Android Auto. Instead of waiting for ProClip to create a custom mount, I found one from A-Tach and combined it with a ProClip phone holster.

I used some cable management stickers to keep the cables down and tucked them under the skirt of the center console and ran them to the back seat and into the cup holders. It's better than before, but I have a big phone and the holster rides high so it blocks my view more than I'd like.

Also put the TRD duckbill spoiler and JDM side marker lights on. These cars look great. Next project is for pads (Power Stop) and fluid (Castrol SRF) in preparation for the track.

Okay, so I heard enough and unplugged the Active Sound gizmo and so far I have not detected any decrease in performance (actual or psychological). I do like not having the extra noise. I went out to test drive the car on a less traveled road and a little voice in my head told me to slow down because for the first time ever, there is a sheriff deputy parked just on the other side of a rise beyond the straight. I'll be damned if that little voice was right. Usually that same voice is what tells me to do stupid stuff. Thanks for the tip, whoever the hell you are. I think have identified the speaker leads for the gizmo and just for fun, I might connect a jack cord with the output appropriately 'padded' so I might plug into the 'AUX' jack for the audio system. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those aforementioned
stupid ideas.

Why would you think that a speaker would cause a decrease in performance

Back when we raced our Austin Healeys and Minis, we didn't mess with stuff just to make the car loud and cool sounding. We were poor folk and if we spent money on mods for the car, there had to be a measurable payback in performance. Tires, brakes and suspension mods came first because that paid the most dividends. Unlike our knuckle dragging friends who only knew straight line 0-60, we had secret information that there were twists and turns on the road. If my pizza delivery routes paid good tips, then I could invest in Weber carbs, headers and exhaust pipes. We also had to keep things street legal because some of the cops where we grew up were real ****s. The goal was a performance boost and if it sounded good that was icing on the cake. Okay, guilty... it had to sound good too. Fake engine sounds and replacement mufflers in my opinion is just like when us kids would attach playing cards to the forks of our bicycles to rub on the spokes. There is something to the whole psycho-acoustic thing with cars, so along the lines of how people perceive their cars, I will reveal a little secret we had back when I was twisting wrenches. Customers would bring their cars in to the dealership complaining about the engine not running quite right. Lots of stuff could cause that. There was bad gasoline that was all over town; many times it was left-over winter blends being pumped when the weather started to get hot. Carburetors and fuel lines were prone to vapor lock and a million other things. However, most of the time we did not find anything wrong. Here is what I would do: adjust timing a bit and send the car over to the wash rack and have every inch of glass cleaned and polished inside and out. Vinyl was especially bad back then and would out-gas and deposit a film on the inside of the glass. Customers would report back that the car ran much better and in some cases they reported better fuel economy. You don't believe me? Try this stunt with a spouse or a buddy of yours. Claim that you are going to do a simple adjustment that you saw on the Internet that is not intrusive to the workings of the car. In secret, make sure the car is a bit cleaner, but pay special attention to the glass. Clean it and so it shines like crystal. Turn the car over to your subject and have them take it for a spin and ask them to report back if they feel any improvement in how it runs. You will become a local genius and of course, don't reveal what you did.

Installed my final piece of the puzzle for autocross/track season last night! Karcepts makes badass parts for a limited selection of cars, but when their swaybars or other parts are available for your car you have to buy them. Over-engineered in the best ways possible! The swaybars have a nice arc built in for the adjustment holes so you can quickly and easily adjust the swaybar stiffness between runs at autocross or you could even do it in a pitstop during an enduro race or something. Easy install for a motorsports product with a great installation manual and they even included some specialty tools that are required.

Today I confirmed the last bar on the fuel gauge does go away. And when i filled up I still had 1.6gal left.

YMMV (literally)

I love rolling into the gas station on fumes. It's like a game or challenge to see how low I can go.

In one of my old cars I ran out of gas around 1/4 mile from the gas station. On that particular day, I lost the game. Still have the jerry can I bought, after walking to said gas station. Has come in handy a few times.

edit: and on topic, summer tires are back on. Its been around 5C here, and my winters were basically chewing gum at that temperature. This is the only situation where switching to the Primacys gives more grip
