Wasp Composites Chassis Mounted Splitter

Hey Folks!

Recently I've had a chance to work with Wasp Composites, a company well known in the S2000 community for crafting high quality, chassis mounted splitters for both race and street applications. Turns out, they needed an FR-S for development on this platform and I had one to spare. The project is in its developmental stages for now and moving quickly along, but I thought I'd just start this thread with some examples of their previous work. All chassis mounted splitters made by Wasp are extremely strong and can handle well over the already substantial downforce they produce. I should have more updates on this throughout the week.

Some completed photos!

We are now ready to start taking orders. MSRP will be $600 shipped, (huge box), the first FIVE orders will be $550 shipped. You also have the option of adding a small Kevlar strip on the front underside of the splitter for $25, or getting a full kevlar bottom for $50. Every order will include the splitter, 2 pairs of support rods, all necessary installation hardware and a clear film on top of the splitter for protection against the elements.

Please PM me for ordering information. For now, here's some more photos.

Sincerely,

Zach

MotoIQ chassis mounted the APR carbon splitter. Used similar mounts to the white S2k shown above but with an additional central mounting point. http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticl...nd-Seibon.aspx

Motoiq's FRS actually uses a one-off piece made by Afterhours Automotive. As far as I know, and I have inquired on this piece as well, it was one off and is not being considered for actual production.

The rear splitter was from Afterhours, but it makes no sense that they would use an Afterhours front splitter and then blur out the logo of a sponsor in the pictures. http://photos.motoiq.com/MotoIQ/Proj...JEF_8091-L.jpg

Perhaps I am blind but to what logo are you referring to? That red logo on the splitter is the after hours automotive logo....I do not mean to be rude but there is not a single place in that article that even so slightly references APR in any way. Not to mention even the shape of the splitter on Motoiq's vehicle is different than the shape of APR's splitter, which has more pronounced "fangs". Two completely different products, for two different markets. To be entirely honest, APR's splitter is little more than a showpiece being as flexible as it is and having it mounted to nothing other than the bumper cover.

Sincerely,

Zach

As a small update, here's some photos of the splitter OFF the car compared to APR's offering for the Evo X (Sorry we didn't have an APR FR-S splitter on hand)

Sorry the photos aren't very good, I took them with a potato

I'm waiting on Wasp Composites to give me the final answer on price and see if perhaps we can work out a group buy for the initial five buyers or something like that.

P.S. - Picked her up today. The splitter is beautiful and I'll upload some pictures to the main post soon. You can seriously feel it above 60mph; steering gets tighter and the front end starts to hunker down. All in all the car feels very planted at higher speeds now and wanders a bit less.

Sincerely,

Zach
