I need some advice on how to setup my car for light auto X in summer. It is currently on Tein S tech springs. It has a staggered setup with 265/35/18 in the back and 225/25/18 in the front with -2 rear camber. Tires are Dunlop direzza z101 ultra high performance summer. I have a budget of $1500. What mods will make the biggest difference in an autoX?

Thanks!!
Take your wheels off and get a set of star specs for your stock wheels, some hawk pads and you're ready to go!

Do you have a DOT approved helmet? If you plan on autocrossing more than once or twice, it's nice to have your own helmet instead of sticking your head in a sweaty shared helmet.
DOT approve motorcycle helmet is not enough, you'll need a SNELL helmet.

Having done well over 1000 autoxs back in the day and have been a track instructor for race and HPDE for 10+ years, I'll go ahead and agree with what everyone else has said. Driver training and seat time are key. After that brakes and tires. After that suspension.

A good alignment can also make a world of difference.

We will shortly be announcing our AZP Autox, TT and DE contingency program for 2014. This will earn folks actual credit toward labor at AZP Installs! We just took delivery of a brand new Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment machine and plan on offering top notch alignments for our clients as well as corner balancing.
