Using a muffler as a helmholtz resonator

Morning boys,

My LS1 swapped FRS is too quiet. But the ideal resonator length is impractical without a second bend. So my question is: if I cap one end, will a short fat muffler operate similarly to a much longer resonator when attached at a90 degree angle?

Absolutely no idea on capping a muffler to be a resonator.... but if you do this can you take pictures and sound clips.

I used an SLP LM1 as a resonator in my custom exhaust, but obviously not as a helmholz chamber.

Dual pipes with 2 mufflers. It's not QUIET but it's not loud. I tried it the other day with no mufflers and it droned like a bastard. But it sounded good otherwise lol

Did the exhaust end under the car? If it did, extend it out the back and test again.

Can you use one of those crossover X mufflers with the way its routed? Heard a bunch of LS cars using just that, always seemed pretty decent to me.

X pipes aren't mufflers but I have heard of them making exhaust quieter. I think that would be too difficult to play with to make it worth it. Since they can't be altered easily

Huge difference in cabin volume between under the car vs out the back.
I had a 6 inch extension for my old 7m toyota pick up that would cut noise in half in the cab, used it, unless I was racing. The exhaust ran out the side under the door. Flush with body vs 6 inches out.

I specifically said crossover x muffler.

Magnaflow, dynomax, almost everyone makes a muffler casing with a crossover built in. Don't know what your setup under the car looked like.

I want aware something like this even existed. If it's not too long I could make it work
