should I care how what you said? was i being offensive? your post is non-sense to me, also your tyre example is useless because i m only here in this forum to discuss about tunes mostly since in this forum maybe less than 5 regular posting people know something about how the ecu works, and all the rest have no clue at all and have head filled with wrong concepts about how this car runs i wasn t a douche and you re just another one I will ignore i still have lots of people writing me for help and i ll offer them for free and they are happy so your opinion doesn t touch me Last edited by tomm.brz; 06-27-2020 at 02:11 AM. |

But I have to say, you run your mouth a whole lot for someone who's been less than helpful. Let's go over things thus far. Yes thank you for your input, Five Star contribution. Quote:

It would have cost you nothing to NOT bring your lack of contribution and attitude, but you did, and now, as if 2020 wasn't bad enough, you did. Schweiz, I know I said I was bowing out, but one last thing... It's hard to troubleshoot over text on the internet, it's best to try and learn a lot on your end, there are a lot of small things to check, and a lot of it you can check yourself with basic tools. Going over the symptom troubleshooting section of the shop manual is a great start. Check here https://demos.starbase7.net/t3Portal/ and navigate to 2017 repair manual, then Engine/Hybrid system > FA20 Engine Control > SFI System > Problem Symptom Table > Hunting (Poor Idling) Some things you can check with a simple multimeter, some things you can check with a helper and something to put your ear too. I won't expect you to have a scan tool, but you may enquire at auto parts stores around your area, some may have elementary scan tools for lending/renting, just make sure it's datastream compatible for checks that require data viewing (like the MAF). |

It says your join date is Apr 2010. What does that mean? What did you join in Apr 2010? Wasn't the first 86 built in 2012? |

My name, rznt4r, is what I drove at the time, an rzn 4runner. I joined when this car was yet to be unveiled in the hopes I'd have one one day. At the time it was just talking about rumors.
I took a detour, after my 4runner I got a few motorcycles, a RAV4, but in March 17, I finally got into the 86 party |

whatever you think go to fix idle with a multimeter and some general instructions that correlates nothing with the fact that the idle dips and jerks because of PI going over the minimum activation limit and because you seems to trust Subaru so much, you should know that the 2 injections are not scaled to each other, because yes stock tune sucks
AC just can exacerbate the irregular idle but it surely happens also without AC Whatever, stay in your ignorance, i couldn t care much, I still tune around 6-7 guys every month and nobody complained and guess what.. all with rock solid idle without even checking your lovely throttle plate |

If you only really come onto the forum for "tuning" then why the hell are you commenting in the subforum that has nothing to do with tuning, on a thread that is 100% about an OEM issue? If I was looking for an e-tune and saw how you handle a completely new member of the community with a new car, you'd be the absolute last person I'd go to for anything. You should pick up some better communication skills and learn how to respect people.

I commented because it is a tune problem, a stock tune problem that everybody has
enjoy your random trims and afr and good luck with your temporary fixes Tell me where i disrepected someone, the one called douche is me dont worry i'll be gone from now on here, you said that "issues" have nothing to do with tuning and tunes, you must be right |

I drove a BRZ tS that didn't have it. The amount of posts about a hunting idle in this forum suggests that few people have it. |

my thinking is most people don t care for it being low and a bit intermittent, stock tune also is quite "weak" when you blip the throttle from idle so the overall slow reaction of everything around idle make people thinking all is good also, who gets really problematic idle haunting swing usually cleans the maf sensor and throttle valve and resolve it |

That idle dip could be one of dozens of issues
If its on stock tune its unlikely to be tune the 2017 should ide fine it was onlt early cars like 2012-2013 then 2015 auto that had idle issues but if its a used car you dont know if its stock tune Check manifold pressure at idle is abour 0.4 bar (atmospheic is 1 bar) Check long term fuel trims at idle is less than 10% when warm Check AFR is steady at arround 14.7 AFR at idle If those are not correct might give you a clue as to where to look check intake and exhaust systems for leaks, clean maf sensor, clean air filter Unfortunately intermittent faults like this are hard to diagnose is a fully equipped workshop and virtually impossible on the internet. Many cars are modified then put back to stock, but tune left in car for mods |
