That seems pricey to me, the going rate in my area is around 700 depending on millage.

That’s ab what I’ve seen, cheapest I’ve seen is $795. Most I’ve seen is $1495. I err on the expensive prices.

K24A comes in several varieties. Are we talking about the TSX K24A2? USDM or JDM? The price depends on the miles and condition and how dressed the engine is. Have you seen a fully dressed TSX motor with sub-80k miles and no broken components around $700? I’m sure that could be the case.

You can get a good condition K24A2 for ~$700 no problem if you shop around. Can't say that about most other desirable engines...

In the end, the difference between $750 and $1500 still isn’t a big deal in the total price of the swap. The extra $300-750 is maybe 5% of the total cost.

The kswap moves the trans back about 4 inches. With the IRP shifter it deletes the shifter carrier and we are just left with the shift rod, which was more than 4”, I feel like it was probably 6-8”. We should be able to run the IRP shifter with just a shortened shift rod. The shifter would stay in the same location and still be bolted to the chassis. I’m meeting with K Power soon to let them use my 2017 to check the CANBUS, I’ll ask some questions while I’m there.

That part isn’t what would be shortened, there’s a rod bolted to that, the rod goes from there to the actual shifter. If your able to, measure that rod and it will tell us if the IRP is able to be used. From what I remember, and from pictures online that rod is well over 4” long and looks like it could easily be shortened for the kswap.

It has been a while since my transmission was out of the car or since I had a look at a picture, but you are right. It looks like they could make a custom carrier without welding or anything that accomodates the stock shifter or something like the IRP shifter. Specifically, this long rod could be replaced with a shorter rod:
