One thing I did on mine was make sure the fans didn't kick on until it reached a hair over 200. Maybe 205 but it's been a while. I found that the fans actually cooled the system just enough that it wouldn't open the thermostat. I also like others here put only the driver side wheel up high with the long neck of the funnel kit. I got it warm enough for the fans to kick on a couple times and after the fans went off, I shut off the car. I left the funnel topped off and after the car cooled I massaged the hoses one last time and topped it off enough to add the cap back on.

Essentially I think the issue was that the fans are efficient enough to keep the temp just a hair below when the Tstat will open. I could be completely wrong but after adjusting my fan temps it has opened like it should without fail.

Yeah, you definitely want the right sized screwdriver, and it really doesn't need to be tightened super tight at all. In fact, it could almost be completely unscrewed and just barely be held in, and it still wouldn't leak significantly for me. I really had to allow it to push out. I'm assuming you bled it until coolant came out and not just air and bubbles, right?

Sometimes people will try sticking the nose or tail up in the air, so the car is at a significant incline, and that can help get out trapped bubbles. I also squeezed every hose, including the one under the intake manifold, and the ones on the exhaust side. I don't know which one made the most difference. I did squeeze them for a solid 2-3 minutes.

Are you getting hot air through your heater? Maybe try turning that off to see if the water will get hotter going to the thermostat. I know others struggled, but it wasn't bad for me. I guess you had to start over after drilling the holes though.

I ordered the Fluidampr pulley. My engine had 260k miles on it before I installed so I imagine the stock pulley is well worn regardless. I'll post up if it changes but I imagine there will be some difference just due to age.

Thanks for everyone's input after messing with it all day. I think what end up working in the end was Cpt Awesome method. Jacked the pass corner up, used a long neck funnel (i was using the short) unplugged the fans & massaged it.
I drove her about 15 miles today just doing some testing
everything seems to be working good.

Irace* i swapped the Tstat twice yesterday.

Glad it worked out. Those first few miles can be nerve-wrecking but I think you're gonna like the extra rev range and power. Also just want to point out I staggered my fans when they engage and added a few degrees to each before they kick on in the base map. I don't have my laptop in front of me but I'll post up what I set when I get a chance.

Somewhat related, since my car is track oriented I was wondering if anyone knew of an underdrive pulley for the K24 alternator.

I found this but was hoping for something US based. https://www.t7design.co.uk/honda-k20...1-83d-4d7.html

This is awesome, any feedback on how well it works? I'm assuming there shouldn't be any issues but you never know until you test it.

So far there's quite a reduction in vibrations overall and it's spinning and doing what it's supposed to properly. No regrets. I don't know if you saw the pics or not but I did add some spacers when installing at the carrier bearing. A hair over 5/8" if I remember correctly.

So I swapped to the STI trans mount and some vibes definitely came back to the cabin. I test fitted the hacked up stock shifter assembly but ran into a snag. You can't slide the stock locking pins in place because there's no room. The trans tunnel brace is in the way. Maybe the engine mounts could be loosened enough to drop the trans a bit? Either way I decided not to mess with it right now.

I also swapped to the Fluidampr. I feel like there's a tiny reduction at idle but the car feels quite a bit smoother in the upper RPM. Fuel rail damper should be here any day, so we will see if that helps just a little more.

Overall the car is certainly livable and much better than where it started. I still have some dash panel areas that vibrate at certain RPM under load and at idle. I think once I get those silenced I'm pretty much good to go.

My music is down, and now I am dealing with noise that was easily drowned out, and once again, it is far too loud. Ugh. I have a tuning session today. If I can't nail down the noise with tuning then I don't know if I will keep the car. It is too race car right now, and not the lightweight GT I was hoping for.

Try removing the trans insert. It’s worth a shot and I think you’ll be surprised how much it helps.

I can try, but it wasn’t making a difference with idling. I didn’t try with driving.

Pro-tip, if anyone wants to try the Sachs clutches that KPower sells you can order them from Germany via www.race-clutch.com

I ordered the metallic clutch disk / pressure plate kit from them and it was $640 shipped, took about 3 weeks to get here though.
