Damn. Is there any precedent for us to ask the dealer on delivery that the spare wheel was specified as part of the deal when we bought the car? I definitely had it pointed out to me the demonstrator model, and thought it was a good inclusion.

I've got to look closer at my contract and see if it's one of the specified inclusions on there.

I would have assumed this is quite a saving especially for GTS models because they no longer need to provide a spare alloy (~250?) and Tyre (~200-250). Instead we get the repair kit (~$100?).

Do you know much about the kit, as in is it just a patch thing to seal the hole?

A side effect would be that the car becomes lighter and the boot is now flat
Dont know anymore about it other than the bulletin i posted up.

I wonder if BRZ will go the same way.

I like the idea of a flat boot, but not having a spare is crappy.

Don't think so. If you are not happy there will be a clause in the contract giving you the option to cancel.

Hey btw, on the topic of changes, have the issue with moisture getting the headlights/fog lights been fixed?

They said it was a factory over-tightening issue, and that it was fixed.

I'm assuming any current production models won't have this issue anymore.

Looks like I'll have to hunt around for a space saver spare then.

Could anyone help me out in letting me know what kind I should be looking for (when I receive) a GTS?

They've got 17" wheels but would, say, a 16" space saver from any car (as long as it has the right number of bolts & 5 x 100) suffice?

On the BRZ I saw last weekend it was an issue. I'd have to look at cars production dates I guess.

What about chirping?

I bought a WRX spacesaver - it's within 5% rolling diameter of the OE 17"s, has the right offsets etc. Hub size is right, PCD is right, there's always a few on eBay or places like Option 1 garage.
