So in the end, we took it off. I know one of my buddy has iwatch (w cellar) on his Dalmatian, cuz that doggo has escape few times & it’s cheaper to do iwatch cellar ($10/month) than other brands w big ass GPS on the collar.

Not trying to scare you & honestly my doggo was at sis-in-law when we went back to Japan for almost a month. She didn’t run away & she was chilling on the couch majority of the time (other time was playing w their kids)
Hahah that's crazy. Fortunately the Fi gps thing isn't that bulky. It just has to sit on a slightly wider than necessary collar for Haru.

I really just do it for peace of mind. I think when he was a puppy there was a bigger chance of him running off just for fun if I left the door open. But as you know, he's like 2.5 now and he's chilled out a lot.

In all likelihood he'll be just fine. I already had him stay there a few times the past couple months to get used to being there without me and he did fine.

It's really just a "what if" kind of thing.

If you look close on the pic, the badge looking thing on the collar is the Fi tracker, and the light blue circle is the Apple AirTag thing. So not too bad. He didn't even notice the difference when I added the Apple thing a couple weeks ago.

Honestly, fi collar should be efficient enough.

Yeah… w my doggo, can’t hang anything on the collar. She'll chew em up real quick. We went through few tiles, name tags & bell before we gave up & went w the small metal tag, which she still chew up & take off the colors… smh

dang that's crazy. Haru basically ignores his collar (in a good way). It's the harness he absolutely hates and refuses to wear no matter what I do.

I just started getting the “adblockers aren’t allowed on youtube” popup notice yesterday, so I fixed an issue in my firefox install that made youtube unwatchable and went on my way.

The only task i used chrome for was youtube and only because i was being lazy and didn’t want to chase down a bug in firefox, but after google paused playback a couple times with that stupid popup, i got less lazy. So far it seems google is only blocking adblockers in chrome, so… good riddance chrome.

Not yet. It won't be long before people figure out a workaround somehow.

I really haven't been playing GT7 lately.

I haven't been banned yet, I just keep closing YT's pop up message for now.

Might have to switch back to FireFox. I used to use it for everything, but then it became slow and unresponsive, which made me start and keep using Chrome.

Sounds like a good enough reason to stop watching YouTube to me.

Some sites (Facebook) are built poorly and do things which cause memory leaks expecially bad on Firefox. My old laptop is starting to struggle (10 yr old) but it also can't do zoom any more. So it may be combinations of things. YouTube isn't quite as bad as FB but is close. Also built by the same company as Chrome so I bet they'd love to break Ffx entirely.

I've never stopped using Ffx as primary. It's not always as fast as Chrome, but fast enough. And Chrome is getting closer to being spyware every release.

The practical range on the Solterra is under 200 miles. Probably OK if you'll never leave town, but I wouldn't want to road trip it. Most people think about stated range (in this case 222 miles) but likely you'll only use down to more than about 20% of that on the road which puts you at 178 miles.

Also, the base version is missing several convenience and safety features of the next model up.

Itchi’s in Utah too. That cold weather will also hurt range a bit.

My parents do about $40 a month in electricity for my mom’s 40 mile commute x5 a week in her model 3.

Interesting. I average $167 a month (since 2012 so there are peaks and valleys in that cost) in the FRS doing 40x2x5 commute. So about twice as much fuel cost.

If I go EV my commuting "fuel" costs would be zero as I can charge for free at home (up to 400kWh per month) and at work.

i haven't been watching yotube for the last few months. just fell out of vogue for me i guess.

is this a recent change?

i might need to go back to firefox if that's the case...

i didn't mind when it was just an 8 second ad at the beginning of a clip once per viewing session, but now it's full-on 2 minute infomercials 2-4 times an hour...

Yeah, long arse ads is what kills it for me. Short ones I can deal with.
