That will really depend on dealers. You are more likely to have the chance to haggle the price down on a BRZ compared to the no-haggle pure price at scion which is whatever that particular dealer has it listed as.

My dealer wouldn't haggle on the sticker price and gave me the Pure Price line baloney. He only gave me a discount on the dealer add ons for LEDs and window tint.

My take is; if you want a comfortable daily a Monogram would be cool if you can find one and don't mind fanbois drooling over your exclusivity. It was too rich for my blood as I just wanted a basic car to romp on. If I were you, I'd wait for the 2015 and get a base 6SPD.

Got my Monogram Saturday and I lovveeee driving it. The options were well worth it. I went with Ultramarine color and the wow does it pop. I've already ordered a Perrin exhaust system for it along with a front pipe(HKS) and over pipe(Perrin). Also got the sharkfin to get that 2015 look lol and also just looks better. Cant wait to get them in. Looking forward to the many miles ahead.

That's what I figured. While I love driving and bought this car for driving pleasure, I doubt my driving skills are ever going to get to the point were I'll notice the extra 15-20-30lbs weight difference between the Monogram and base.

EDIT: And if they did, i'd skip breakfast on track days..

... and kneepads. All 2014 FRS get kneepads, but the BRZ don't (except the 2015 series.blue).

Out of curiousity...for everyone who compares the weight difference of most mods....are you all aware of the difference between sprung weight and unsprung weight?...

Good point. The extras in the Monogram is sprung weight which makes less of a difference than unsprung weight...I believe?

If the wheels or revised suspension weights less for 2015 that could add up to less unsprung weight for 2015 but I doubt they removed much weight if any.

I am very happy with my Monogram series FR-S. It pleases me greatly to know my manual whiteout is probably the highest sought after version of the FR-S thus far. 2015's don't seem to have anything to die for. I will get a shark fin soon enough. Only thing I can think of is that if the 2015's have forged front suspension like the new WRX's I might feel a little down to know I have stamped steel. But if the new suspension is american market only then I will feel really happy to not get the watered down version.

I would get the Monogram.

Isn't it interesting how most people want the Monogram edition? They got bought up rather quickly while there are still plenty of 2013 models sitting at my local dealer's lot. I knew this would happen and urged Scion to just come out with a higher spec model from the start and not make it some special limited edition. Hopefully they will learn form this and bring out more Monograms soon.

Scion Logic: "OK, we'll give you guys what you always wanted but only for a limited time. Teehee!"

Is it bad that I kind of want there to only be one year of monograms made?

I don't. If something ever happens to my car and I have to replace it with another vehicle I can't get another one again. I would've loved if they didn't do stupid monospec so that they can offer the base car and the Monogram version from the beginning. I have no problem with them offering the base spec car, I only have a problem with them limiting our choices.
