Congratulations! I'm glad the current state of affairs is working out well for you. I fail to see what's so wrong about that.

I meant talk to people that lived through these notionally "better" ages you are referring to. When you actually compare quality of life between now and the early 1900s I think you would find the majority would say we are far better off now both individually and as a whole. "Sustaining a household" wasn't any easier, and there was far less to sustain.
