It all depends on the amp, box, and driver combinations. A really good driver can still be outperformed by a lesser one if you don't give it the right power or box.

There are guys that can build massive ported boxes powered by cheap mono amp and relatively cheap drivers that can outperform expensive drivers and amps in small sealed boxes.

But you have to have the space for a massive box, and you have to ensure that you build and tune the box correctly.

Likewise, a very well engineered 10" woofer (like a JL Audio or TC Sounds) with a powerful amp and properly engineered box can easily outperform a 12", 15" or 18" woofer depending on the driver, amp and box.

If you are tight on space and box size, a really good woofer and amp can match or beat a larger box and driver. But it will cost you a lot more

I have a pure sq setup I know more than most about audio those subs have a sensitivity rating of 91.1db. Trust me they r louder than 1 jl w7 and sound better doing it plus u don't have to make a huge box or pay 700$ for one sub.

yea maybe some cheap ass walmart set of 12's, did you not see that those were high quality 12's on @koteman s build? The real issue is how much you want to spend on your Audio setup, you pay for quality.

got a white GT with the donut spare tire in the middle

This is what I did for my car, sounds good and clean and maximizes trunk space. I used the integrity concepts box.
