TiC BRZ at Putnam for it's first track weekend
Just one pic of our BRZ out at Putnam Park Road Course this past weekend. It was the first time we had an opportunity to get the car out on track for testing and so far we love it! Ran some super fast times for a nearly stock car on street tires with the way we have it setup. It's one of the best handling cars we have driven and has sharper response than our Miata.
Setup right now consists of Racecomp Engineering springs, MSI front camber plates, Linea Corse Wheels 18x9.5 wheels, Hankook 255 35 18 RS3's and a Nameless Performance, Inc. Muffler delete. More awesome parts to come as this week as the car is at KONI shock Absorbers getting the very first prototype set of Koni dampers installed and tested! You guys can follow the build and discussion on our Facebook page along with all the parts we have in the mix for it. facebook.com/turninconcepts |

Do you have any insight as to when Koni might have their FSD (gold shocks) ready for the ft86 platform?..

Great looking car in red with those wheels.
Also good to hear Koni is coming out with aftermarket dampers. Do you feel the stock dampers didn't handle the RCE springs well? |

I'm not sure Koni will do an FSD shock for the car. They are definitely more interested in the single adjustable sport shock to start. They may do an FSD down the road as they are working on putting out a full replacement strut instead of just an insert, although an insert in the front will be the initial offering.
The stock dampers handle the RCE springs very well, but they are stock dampers. There is always room for improvement. The biggest issue we had is that over large bumps the dampers couldn't handle the spring rate. Still felt and handled much better than the OEM springs. FYI, just realized I posted this is the FRS section. Not that it really matters I guess. Tony |

Haven't seen a Tanabe/koni offering yet. It is probably an off the shelf koni shock that they chose then put a spring to it. These Konis are specifically designed as OE replacements.
Haven't used the V3's on this car, but have used them on many Subarus in the past and had good luck with them. The valving is decent, but not the greatest and they can have structural issues over time due to their construction. Stock dampers currently on the car. Tony |
