IMHO, I can not suggest going lower than 1" on springs. But, that's how I roll.
i was planning on coils. camber is undecided but enough to where the wheels sit nicely even good tire wear and wont compromise dd lol i gotta do more research about other peoples setups for dd cause i dont know enough about camber to know what -2 means lol

Well, then... I would say.

If your budget is big, get coilovers. (greater than $1000)

If not get 1" drop springs and camber bolts. 1" drop give a lower ride height with out sacrificing: drivability, the stock shocks life span, or comfort. And is budget friendly. I got both for $250 and installed them my self. There is a amazing DIY on how to install springs in the DIY section.

Hey guys,
so I have 18x8 et34 and 18x9 et34. I was thinking about doing 235/40/18 for the front and 255/35/18 for the rear. I'll also be on coils and plan on lowering about 1". I don't have LCA's, and I'm hoping to not rub or roll fenders. Anyone know if I should have any problems?

I'm running 18x8 +35 and 18x9+37. I have -1.5 front and -2 rear camber. With 225/40 front and 245/35 rear. I have a few mm before I rub.

I think that you may rub on the fender in the rear with a 255 on a 18x9 +34. Also, a 235/40 will look fat compared to the rear 255. I'd go 225/40 to match the 255/35. 225/40 is the same diameter as a 255/35.

I don't like how the 225/40 looks on my car. I am going 215/40 next time to match the diameter ( and stretch look) of my 245/35 rear tires.

Why coils? Which ones?

I'm lowered 1" on Eibach prokit springs (TRD are branded Eibach springs). I also have camber bolts in the front.

17x9 +45 does not really fit on a stock car. Though a 17x9 +42 does on most cars. So it is really really close to fitting. Either get a small spacer in the front for now( 3mm-5mm should do it), or get your coils first. You will not be able to run any camber with out more room by adding a spacer or getting coils. (no camber = No tucking the top of the tire under the fender)

A few guys say they "fit". A few guys say they hit the tire rod at full lock. Most are going coils to fit this size in the front. I'd read through this.

Thank you, I am going for a meaty setup. Is a 1 inch spacer too much without poking out on a 17x9 +45?

I said a 3mm to 5mm front will work. Not a 25.4mm spacer.

Look at post 2299.

He is running a 17x9 +42. I was surprised to see that a 255/40 did not rub. Because most times a 245/40 will be maxed out. Anyway, Is this is the look you are going for?

How about 17x9 +38 with 245/40/17 tires
Lowered trd springs?
Need camber bolts in front?
Will run like -1 to -1.5 front camber and -1 rear for daily drive

Hmm, I'll take a look at 225/40 front and 245/35 rear. I thought I'd have a shot at going meaty, since I've seen a few people going with 255 and running et35 on a 18x9.5 (ex. Post #3669). I'll take your word for it. This sure is one hell of a learning experience!

I have a set of HKS Hipermax IV GT's on the way. I figured I'd lower an inch first, and then depending on how much tire is left, check and go from there on.
