I have a 2022 Limited BRZ on order with 18 by 7.5 wheels. I'm looking to do an all season setup for winter driving since I'm only going to drive in cold and prob no snow. In looking at wheels almost all are 18 by 8.

If I go with 18 by 8 should I go up to 225/40 instead of the 215/40 size that comes on the 18 by 7.5 oem wheels?

Also, do I need to be concerned about offset? I am so confused. Never bought after market wheels and this is my first BRZ/86 even though I am 53.

Waiting for my new blue baby in St Louis.

For winter driving i would suggest getting winter tires, but if you are sure you wont be driving in snow than all-seasons might suffice. If the winter wheels you are considering at 18x8 a 215/40 or a 225/40 will fit just fine on them. For snow though a narrow tire would be better. For offset you can try to stay near the stock offset anywhere from +35-48 is good enough. People will generally get low offsets to push the wheel out to get a flush fitment.

I will avoid the snow and only need all seasons because of the temperature changes here in Missouri. So with that being said am I better with the 225? That is the largest Costco will put on the 18 by 8 since it is a bit bigger than specs.

Yes, that will be fine. 225/40 size tires are the most common size on wheels with an 8" width.

BBS RF520 w/ Stock Suspension

I have a bone stock 2013 FR-S that I've had for about a year. I'm ready to start upgrading it and want to start with some nice BBS RF520s.

The RF520s are an 18x9 +45. I've heard there can be problems with the stock suspension when running a +45 offset with a larger wheel. While I plan on making the switch to coilovers next, I want to check if I will run into trouble with the stock suspension if I grabbed these wheels.

Also looking at Michelin Pilot Sport 4S @ 245/40 for tires.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome as this is my first time buying wheels.

I know I've seen 18x9 +45 fit on stock suspension before, but I'm not sure that a 245/40 tire will clear. For my setup the wheel/tire moves away from that strut by about 0.5" more than the setup you describe. I'd say mine is... about 0.5" to 0.75" away from the strut, so you'd be hitting VERY close or possibly not quite clearing.

EDIT: closest setup size to yours that I could find - mentions he has slight rub, but he also has a lift suspension.

OEM Brake Measurements

Hello! Long time reader, first time posting. I have the PP brembos, and am actually looking to downgrade to OEM brakes. the whole purpose is to fit 15s on. I am currently trying to source wheels for this project that have a lead time of 4 months before shipping, and I need to get this out of the way before buying the brake kit.

I am trying to see if someone either has measured, or could measure, two things:

1. the radius from the center of the hub to the tallest point of the caliper.

2. how far the caliper protrudes from the hub.

if anyone has this information i would greatly appreciate it!

Worried about a fitment disaster

Okay... I'm running a pretty wack set up and after all my reading I've got some hesitancies for lowering the car this winter.

Currently on:
17x9 +25 with 215/40R17 at stock height (crazy unsafe stretch, big gap)

Looking to go to:
17x9 +25 with 245/40ZR17 OR 255/40ZR17 lowered on Tein Flex Z

I've just bought a fender rolling tool, so I can roll and pull my fenders to create a bit more room. Its the +25 offset that no one else seems to be running that makes me think this might not work once I start coming down.

Am I out to lunch with this set up?

I run a 17x8 with 235/40.. debating going 235/45 next time. Would love to see a picture of someone running that size. Curious to see how it looks.

It will probably close the gap from the tire to your fender because of the bigger sidewall and taller tire. Is there a reason you want to use a 235/45 tire? because that is a pretty tall tire of our cars as it will affect speedo and gearing. Stick with the 235/40 or 245/40/17. I have 17x8 wheels and use 245/40

Just curious to see how it looks. Need to lower my car, see if that satisfies what I want

I'm guessing there is a really high chance it does... but just want to double check to make sure... does anyone know if the new STI wheels for the new BRZ will fit the last gen BRZ with the PP brembos?

I just bought a new to me 2013 BRZ. It is sitting on TRD springs, stock struts and shocks. Stock wheels. JR supercharger and tune.

I think the car is too low, though it rides okay for now. I am not 100% certain I will do coil-overs, but another possibility is getting a set of RCE yellow springs while still keeping the stock dampers. I understand that I would have more clearance with coil-overs in most cases.

I own a set of 4 barely used Michelin PS4, in 235/40R18.

I plan to buy a set of 18x8.5" wheels. So a square setup. What offset will clear the stock front struts? Trying to keep the wheel budget under $1500 or so. Would like something on the lighter side but durable. Plan to try and do some weekend track days a couple times a year. Car is not really a daily either.

Just some example wheels I see at 86speed. The car is black. I don't want a lot of spokes or wheels that are too busy or hard to clean.

+37, the only affordable wheel I would consider is a Gram 57DR in black.

+44 SSR GTX01

+45 Wedssport SA10R and some Enkei

Thanks for any guidance.
