Yup, will be getting it tune soon. Just got a quote from WORKS regarding the flex fuel kit and custom tune. Will keep everyone posted on that.

What I'm curious about is that on the website they state "Expect gains of ~90 hp, ~90 ft-lbs crank on 91 octane (R+M)/2 gasoline
~55% power increase over stock"

Is it because of the carb tune? So another map on Ecutek could get you those gains? I've had my eyes on this turbokit for a while and I'm hoping to get it sometime, I just hope the numbers on the website are good.

All these people bashing on a CARB legal turbo in California for it's cost.... google what it costs to get CARB certified and what it costs to get caught on the streets not running a CARB tune.... it's cheaper to get a DUI in Utah @_@

Maybe not the best choice outside of Cali but in Cali if you want a turbo it would be silly to go with anything else. I lived in Sacramento for over 10 years and it sucked because you always have to "pay to play" whether we are talking about turbo kits or groceries...

I even bought a CARB legal SC just to not have my car taken away from me when I decide to visit family in California because they will pull you over for not looking American enough (I am not American) and the CHP is pretty hostile.

Any update after E85 and additional tuning? Did getting away from the CARB tune yield any better results?

Remember what I said in the start of this post, I am just trying to give this kit a fair review and already stated reasons why I went with this kit. I believe there is still a lot of room for a more aggressive tune but that will be for another day.
If you want, I'll take my full bolton E85 AT down to S&N this weekend and see if your 7K turbo is faster. If anything, it will make it a real "heartbreaker dyno" to see a turbo'ed MT with less power than a n/a AT.

Edit: S&N is busy this weekend, will have to do it the following one. They have a great price on dynotime, nice guys to chat with too.

Looks nice and conservative, a bit leaner than most stock turbo factory tunes cars (because most stock tunes on factory turbo are silly rich up top) but nothing to be worried about since your right in the mid 11's.

Do you have a boost gauge or anyway to log boost? Depending on the tune you may be able to squeeze another 20 or 30 whp out of it with just a boost controller and some logging. But, DO NOT turn up the boost without being able to log knock, afr, timing at a minimum.

I'm sorry...

202 on a dynojet is pathetic. E85 will get you to that...

What are some baselines on that dynojet that you ran on?

Works should just come out with a non complaint turbo upgrade. Yes it's not CARB legal but at least the owner has the CARB sticker. Also with a turbo upgrade for this kit, maybe these haters would shut up w their bench racing. At least works stepped up and offered a carb complaint kit. The thing is, after that carb sticker you can tweak some of it. May not be carb complaint but sometimes small non complaint mods slip through the cracks On a visual.

That will all be up to the owner, really ain't much to change that you can't just get in the aftermarket, only thing holding this kit back are the headers and the down pipe/front pipe design

Jarrett gave me a test ride in their shop car when I was having some light work done at their shop. I was very surprised at the seeming total lack of lag, and very impressed with the power and its smooth delivery. While I feel its too much power for my use case - mainly daily driver where I want more power for merging, on-ramps, and the twisties I somehow always seem to find myself on - given the lack of availability of the Phantom ESC, and the Carb cert, I am really considering this solution. (That's it - no #'s, dyno jets, just thoughts and a testimonial from some guy)
