lol exactly the kind of douchebag that has created a multi-million dollar personality.

He's a caricature, he doesn't believe half the shit he says but he gets paid boatloads of money to say it, the more controversial it is the more papers the publishers sell.

Completely agree Jeremy has a no apologies/dark sense of humor. So the easily offended and those who are PC are offended by what he says. I personally love it, most successful comediennes are somewhat controversial.

True but its a 60k car the point of showing the LFA during segment was to show what type of technology should have been passed down into the RCF. The LFA is a Halo car something a car company makes to show case new technologies and craftsmanship. Theyre suppose to eventally trickle down to lesser cars which didn't happen with the RCF

A person doesn't have to be PC or even adverse to raunchy humor to see that why Clarkson's behavior may have crossed the line for the BBC. Top Gear has had a ton of success, undoubtedly Clarkson's made a lot of money. The question the BBC is having to ask themselves is, do they want/need money in the way Clarkson has chosen to make it? The BBC's audience and mission obviously aren't the same as say Comedy Central's.

What's frustrating to me is that if Clarkson has such a razor wit why can't he figure out how to make a funny show about cars without ripping on people that have little to no voice in the U.K. The poor, Asians, Argentinians, Mexicans etc. Clarkson's totally unnecessary jabs at them have more in common with country club fat cats and trust fund frat boys, than the racial and socioeconomic musings of Carlin, C.K., Rock, and many others who are also not PC. In terms of the humor, this isn't about political correctness, it's about respect. However, Clarkson's insistence on interjecting his narcissism, outsized personality and bully-type humor has made the show more about his shenanigans and what he can get away with and less about cars.

Personally, I think that Clarkson fully understands the optics of a rich guy driving a supercar grousing about people who have/choose to ride the bus. A Brit in a Lotus making a visual joke of Argentinians about a war they lost (and thus relatives who died) in their own country. Or a Asian racial slur from his generation being coyly played off as a riff on the angle of a road. In those moments Clarkson owns the platform and thus all the power. That's not wit, it's a slap in the face to a person(s) who can't defend themselves at the time. So does the BBC absolutely need to employ a guy that can only joke in this way anymore? Or that punches his co-workers for not having his hot dinner ready? Perhaps Clarkson feels entitled to say and do whatever he wants because he co-hosts a successful TV show.

Keep in mind that Clarkson may have made millions, but who even knows the kind of settlement they might have to pay out to that producer if they choose to keep Clarkson on.

The BBC might be saying that it's not Clarkson's network to shape to his choosing. They may also be considering what kind of network they're going to be, and what conduct they're going to allow. I like his style as a presenter, but I'm not at all taken aback by the backlash. He asked for it, maybe even dared for it. Now he's got it.

Seems like the decision has already been made and now they are just milking it for as much publicity as they possibly can.

Publicity aside, if someone approached me and said, "Hey, want to drive a tank to the BBC HQ?" my response would be, "Hold on, let me get my shoes."
