At the rate I'm driving mine, it should will take me 16+ more years to get to 100k miles. Don't plan on selling it.

If it got totaled, don't know. Too many unknown variables to say.

Little yellow cap under the hood. Yours is probably covered by bolt on parts.

Yes, I would love to get a "launch edition" of any 2nd generation if and when it arrives.

I feel like my 2013 can hold up long enough for that to happen (assuming 2022 launch). If it shits out before then, I'll just get a 2017.

Of course, the auto lending market isn't really healthy right now, so if the market tanks and automakers start losing billions, either Toyota or Subaru will just make the decision to kill the car. Nothing lost, unfortunately. It isn't a crossover or truck, so why bother?

I am keeping my 1st gen either way (hopefully my kid wants to drive it as his first beater :p) and if they come out with a 2nd gen I would definitely get it only if there is going to be a manual. I was gonna work towards the new Supra but with it being auto only turned me off big time, luckily sounds like my old man is grabbing one when he retires at the end of the year.

I don't think I'll ever drive another car. I will probably upgrade to a newer BRZ in the coming years - or maybe 2nd gen if it ever appears. I just can't see myself being satisfied with anything that's not a RWD sport coupe, and the FT86 is likely the only vehicle in that category I can ever afford.

(Now, if something crazy happens and I suddenly have a huge increase in income, I'd look at a Cayman/Alpina/Evora/Supra/2 Series, but that's not likely.)

Your "research" is very skewed one way.
Oh, poooo -

Reminds me of my father, his last three vehicles were the "last ones I'll ever buy". At age 94 he pulled away from a gas pump without taking the nozzle out of the filler tube. The next day, my sister "borrowed" his car - and never returned it -

The rest of the story is - that he then drove his golf cart into town - and got a ticket -

Probably, unless the twins turn out to be weedier than any vehicle ever produced before.
Had a motorcycle for 25 years. Current one is going on 15 years now.

Guess I'm pants at flipping stuff.
I bought my first (and last) motorcycle 49 years ago. It's still in the basement, somewhere, I think -

If I had to do it all over again I would buy it again. Gonna keep it until im bored off it. Will probably end up putting in a SC in it before I sell it.

I will keep my first gen until the last GEN 86 come out.
However, I will eventually own two-car cus I always wanted a turbo and an NA in my garage.

86 will be always my first choice.
Supra, "if" they have a manual in the future.
RX7 FD will be my next car on the list.

About the same here. I think we would just become a one car family. Besides, the family sedan, with the 6 way, power adjustable, heated seats and automatic transmission is "feeling" a lot more comfortable, as I get older -
