My 6900XT requires at minimum 700W PSU, BTW.
Yeah I totally forgot about undervolting lol so I may look into that!

Also lol yeah the struggles of being SFF

I'd also be vaguely interested in a 7900xtx but not really looking to swap at the moment. 6800xt and 7600 both fine on the 750w / 550w I'm using but I'd need a bit more PS myself for a 7900. Plan is to wait at least one more core refresh.

Probably more cost effective to upgrade PSU.

It is more cost effective to upgrade the PSU, the hard part is finding compatible cables that are the right length. I find the concept of certain cables not working with various PSUs kind of stupid.

The other reason I'm considering selling the GPU is because it would be the last bit of $$ I'd need to finally get a new car. Plus I have my laptop so yeah.

So, I figured I'd post it up in here instead of the classified first. Decided I'm going to sell my MSI 7900XTX, not necessarily for the PSU issue mentioned above, but some other issues that need the costs offset. Wanted to ask $750 obo. Obviously, if I need to make a classified and post a timestamp, I'm more than happy to.

Are you looking to downgrade to another 7-series or just the last gen equivalent which would be a 6900XT

Im starting to have second thoughts on dropping 5800 X3d CPU in the future..

And thats due to me not likely to utilize a powerhouse beast of a GPU to pair it with.

I dont think im ever going to spend the amount of money to get something at the level of a 7800XT or higher. I bought the best of the best a long long time ago and after having it for awhile i vowed to never spend that much money on a GPU again, because i never utilized the full benefits of it (plus i thought it was way too much money, even though i bought it lol)

When i got my current 6600 (at overpriced pandemic pricing at the time mind you), what i really wanted to get (at that price) was a 6700XT....i don't think i wasn't willing to spend more for 6800XT. Plus anything i get to replace my Ryzen 5 2600X is going to be a huge upgrade anyways (probbaly at least a Ryzen 7 5700(x), would like to add the 2 extra cores going forward) I think I'm really just a mid-range PC gamer at most. The 5600x3d seems compelling, but being a microcenter exclusive there's almost no chance i'll ever see that (Living in Canada)

Ultimately i think I might just be leaving way too much performance on the table especially with what i play and how old and outdated the AM4 platform is becoming. Im all for longevity but i dunno if the price for a 5800X3d will ever drop to something i would jump on before it goes EoL. May as well do a smaller upgrade and get a brand new platform later down the line.

thoughts?

So the moment I sell my GPU, and have to rely on my laptop for gaming/work/daily, I started getting blue screen of deaths. I've had 3 thus far and all have been after I installed my new SSD and fresh install of Windows. I thought I downloaded all of the needed drivers, but I'm not entirely sure what's up. Hardware changes were simply the NVMe and the WiFi card.

BSoD usually gives a code. What is it?
Next step is Event Viewer>Widows Logs>System. Remember the time it occurred.
Look for anything marked with a Red Circle and ! Error. That should also point to the problem.

As for changing stuff then it dying. It may be nothing more than coincidence.
It has happened a few times to me.

Ah, damn I didn't take note of what was said. If it happens again, I'll be sure to see what the issue is. Thanks!
