Question Cosworth Stage 2.0 & Strut tower brace

Hi

I just bought my GT86 a month ago and coming from an LS2 6.0L V8, I really miss the torque... big time...

That's why I decided that my GT86 will be a project car from the 1st year & to hell with the warranty...

I'm preparing an upgrade plan that I'll put later on a different post. for now while I'm building it I had this question That I hope you'll help me to answer:

Is it possible to install Strut tower brace (i.e. TRD, WhiteLine) on top of Coswrth's Stage 2.0?

Cosworth looks amazing & OEM like but the inlet manifold is huge, and I think it'll be in the way of most Strut Tower Braces.

Waiting for your answers & experience. And please excuse my English as its a 2nd language to me.

Reagrds,

@UNREAL Why don't you email Cosworth and ask them?

If you dont care about the warranty, not sure why you wouldn't go for a much more "bang for buck" option of FI

The Cosworth Kit includes a lot of replacement hardware that the other kits don't provide, and using those parts as intended eliminates a lot of variables that leads to blown engines and unhappy customers.

- Positive Displacement Supercharger
- Cosworth Branded Intake Manifold
- Cosworth High Efficiency Radiator & Air / Water Intercoolers
- Pump for Air/Water Intercoolers
- Supercharger Inlet Assembly
- Intercooler/Radiator hoses
- Cosworth Front Drive Belt
- Wiring loom
- Pressure sensor
- Installation Hardware Including Fittings, Brackets, Etc.

Most of your list looks like stuff you'd get from most standard kits?

I'm not a pro at the FI game, but from my small amount of research you can get any of these things by just buying a larger package from the FI company and still come far under the Cosworth price.

I don't see the connection between me not caring for the warranty & Me looking for high-end FI solution...
I don't care about the warranty but I do care about my car. For that only the finest parts would make it under my hood.

As @nastynate88 said, and I add to that Cosworth is a respectable brand praised for their patience and excellence in the R&D phase, some other brands don't pay much attention to details like Cosworth do, and some of them even use their customers as lab rats...

I'm 96% certain that a strut tower brace won't fit. Of course, I have upgraded strut bars and they bang against the intake tube from my cossie kit, so putting an actual strut tower seems unlikely.

Also, why would you want to cover something as beautiful as the cosworth manifold?!

Hopefully this will help give you a reference...

That was truly helpful many thanks @weederr33
It's true when they say (A picture is worth a thousand words)
I think it would be almost impossible to fit strut tower brace

I know Cosworth's manifold looks the best compared to all other FI options...
But, I'm a functionality over cosmetics guy... specially since it is all hidden under the hood...

I think this car can benefit from more chassis rigidity... correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still new in ft86 town

Just get some good strut bars like the red ones I have. ... just narrower than mine haha. Check out Raceseng's strut bars. They'll add plenty of rigidity.
