Toyota GT 86 launched in Malaysia

The new Toyota GT 86 sports car has been launched in Malaysia, where the model has been priced at RM243,000 for the manual version. ($76,000 USD)

After it was already launched in several markets around the world, the Toyota GT 86 has finally arrived in Malaysia too, where we can’t say that the Japanese sports car is cheap. According to the car manufacturer, the Toyota GT 86, which is actually known as the Toyota 86 in Malaysia, has a starting price of RM243,000 $76,000 USD for the manual and RM249,000$78,000 USD for the automatic version, and the company is offering 100,000 km or three year warranty.
The Toyota 86 for Malaysia has the same configuration as the GT 86 for Europe and it’s Subaru-borrowed 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine is still developing a total output of 200 PS at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque between 6,400 and 6,600 rpm, with the rev limiter starting at 7,450 rpm. The power is being sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, which is being offered as standard, or through a six-speed automatic transmission, available on the higher spec. The Toyota 86 is coming with seven standard airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, VSC and ISOFIX.

It's mainly to protect their local car industry (Proton) - gotta feel sorry for them.

Hmm even though I'm gonna get robbed on the price for my 86, I suddenly feel a bit better after reading this post.

Howdy neighbor ! I'm frm Singapore. Congrats on the launching of Toyota 86.

US$76k for the 86 is still ok. Here in Spore, it costs abt US$150k currently. Its crazy here. Looks like i just got to wait for a 2nd hand in the future.
