Not at dealerships in the USA, but literally everywhere else in the world. they are about 1700$ on the main japan site and about 200$ in shipping. From what I know they were extensively tested.

The first gen Edelbrock SC was CARB compliant for less than $7k. And if you had it installed by a certified ASE Mechanic, they offered a 3/36k mile powertrain warranty.

Note, that is up to 3/36k original miles. So if you installed it with 35k miles, you didn't get much of a warranty.

Magic Just kidding, I have a few friends in Europe and a few in Japan. Let me see if they can forward over screen shots of their car configuration sim.

Drops springs and sways for the twins are just Eibach parts.
the BBK kit look really good too. I like the GR sticker on them.

the reason for the $20k+ kit was not for you and I to use, it was so they can be in compliance with rules that allowed them to run the S/C kit to race the car ~10 years ago:

So put a price on it for homologation purposes only.
Seems like TRD/GR does that for most of their shit.

that's what most manufacturers do to make a competitive race car, especially if the rules stipulate that cars/parts be production-based.

exploiting loopholes without breaking regulations is pretty much the norm in competitive series, sometimes the desire to win is beyond normal human person reasoning.. BMW M3 GTR. Nissan R390. Toyota GT-One. the list goes on and on...

But most of those companies don't also sell useless stickers and say they actually do shit. Which was my point if you missed it.

BTW that "GR Discharge Sticker" is over $100 U.S.

correct, and I sort of ignored that comment because the two are not the same.

TRD USA has been a completely separate enterprise from TRD Japan and even the GR branding since the beginning.

to equate GR dress-up parts with dumb messaging with a $20k "overpriced" supercharger kit that TRD USA decided to sell in order to use in a race series are two different things.

I am looking at it from the business planning side. these details matter because it also brings up a lot of geopolitical decision making based on the target market/audience.

Almost all of their performance parts are rebranded stuff you can get for cheaper.
And the stuff that isn't is usually crap like the sticker, or so damn over priced you may as well not buy the thing.
How to deliver a high performance sports car at a low price? Toyota/Subaru opt to produce a 90% completed vehicle and let the owners put on the final touch to suit their individual taste. Toyota/Subaru allow, and even work directly with some, turners to provide all kinds of customised parts. Tada-san, chief engineer of FT-86, freely admitted that he learned some new tricks from the third-party add-ons.

Some unconventional add-ons actually work much better than expected. For example, the door stabiliser actually won an award in Japan.

Some owners may want to customise/complete their vehicles, but aren't sure what to get, TRD/GR/STi are happy to endorse some items by putting their own brands on them. The price premium represents the convenience factor for time and effort saved.
