The switchback lights act as running lights in white when the running/headlights are on, and they will blink in amber when your four ways or turn signals are activated. They only work when the proper 7440 socket is present, as is the case on the front turn signals on the FR-S.

The electronic flasher relay is installed in the place of a thermal type to prevent the hyperflash caused by using LEDs in the place of incandescent lamps. It is a cleaner and simpler fix than installing 2 big honking load resistors in circuit with the lights.

OP-You could have done a cleaner install of the relay simply by removing then replacing, but no biggie.

wparsons- We probably live near each other, and you are welcome to check out my lighting/mods any time. I am curious still if you will find my HID's unacceptable. Maybe you can install the proper projectors for me too

Thanks sirhc for the write-up! I just installed mine today. The install really was pretty simple. The only observation I had was that the area where the stock relay sits is pretty tight and you have to give it a good solid tug (after unclipping the top portion) to get it out.

We'll be offering these shortly. He was our tester to be sure everything fit and worked as normal.

When i put the LED flasher relay in my tC to prevent hyperflash it made it so when you hit the unlock on the clicker the lights wouldn't flash. Any problems like that here?

The relay is a b**** to take out. Just a heads up! and don't forget to disconnect the battery before doing so!

This is why I left the stock relay in its place, I unfortunately have a tendency to break those clips so used the open part in the back of the relay to run a ziptie through

fixed my write up and I apologize for what ever reason I was under the impression that the relay was only for the switchbacks. This relay is for any of the LED's and keeps your blinkers from hyperflashing
