Finally felt the effects of heat soak (I think) this past weekend. After about 20 hot laps over a few hours, the final session at which was about 100F outside the car was much more sluggish and ABS was going nuts on every turn, still unsure if the heat from the turbo caused it or just the weather, stock brakes and hot laps in general. It was fun over all anyway and was able to chase down our fellow member @rb6freak PTUNING turbo BRZ. Here's his video with our mixed footage.

Looks like fun! I have some friends doing a track day here soon but it's not in the cards for me. I'd really like to go flog on it abit to see what kind of times I put down relative to my CTSV or ITR.

Oh, and as if you need my advice, but that tight S curve, if you enter slower and tighter to set up for the second turn, you will exit much faster and pick up some lap time there. Dunno if you were just overcooking your brakes or what, but your buddy had that turn down really well and it showed when he was following you.

That was definitely his brakes. We both were having car issues due to the intense heat. My tires were starting to give, brakes cooked and radiator boiling out the overflow tank. It was quite the day!

A lil updated installed the kit and oil cooler stock over pipe and catted front pipe tight about like 5.6 psi made 227.5hp and 198 torque.....
There is no trace of the torque dip valley any more...

Stock was 160, cat back & panel filter took me to 176 now 228....on the dirtiest of 91pump here the middle east..

how much boost do you guys think is safe on pump gas??

What's gapping & heat rang needed on the spark plugs now that its boosted....Stock 8 I believe...

Honestly, Greddy's dyno chart shows them running 7PSI on the stock motor. My tuner and I went around 8PSI on 91 pump when I was with the Greddy Kit.. I don't think I would push more than 8 in my opinion. I now have a built motor with a 10:1 compression and my 91 pump tune does about 12PSI. It's better safe than sorry, right? Best of luck.

a bit off topic but, between a Greddy, FBM turbos, and a jackson supercharger, which would last longer for me??
im a daily driver who will hardly the track , but i ask which lasts longer because i drive almost 500-600 miles weekly. i know many things can factor in such as my driving style and other maintenence related issues but, if we assume i took the same amount of care for all 3, anyone know?

and yes, im sorry its off topic and on a greddy topic asking about a supercharger lol

What do you mean last longer? They all produce boost, and they will all need a good tune to keep your motor running for years and miles to come. If you run a reasonable boost level on 93 octane, then each kit should last as long as the components last. Both turbos and superchargers eventually require a rebuild.

last longer as in the miles and years, since i drive so much i want to make sure that any form of FI i do, is at least the one thats best suited for long term.

is 93 that big of a deal when running boost?? unfortunately i have used 92 gas for the 2400 mile duration of my life so far, the 93 is a bit difficult to find. possible, but difficult while the 92 is normal.

can you clarify what you mean when they eventually require a rebuild? is this based on miles or years, or based on maintenance of how hard i drive the car??

thanks for answering btw, i understand noobs such as i can be annoying on forums.
