I understand it is not to everyone's taste (like all games) but SOMA is best experienced not knowing anything about it. I know that's a big call. The game play can be a little clunky but it asks a couple of big philosophical questions.
The ending left me melancholic for a while which means the game did its job.

Yeah the game really got under my skin in a good way. I do recommend it but knowing little to nothing really makes it better.

Today on “Stupid Shit that Mafia should not be spending money on”. I was scrolling thru Instagram and I saw an add to create your own custom Xbox controller.
It was $95 after tax.
Getting it in about 3 weeks.
Im not a smart man.

There are so many games on sale on Steam. Picked up Amnesia, LA Noire, some DLCs for current games.
Far Cry 6 is also on sale for those who are on the fence on the Epic Games Store. Definitely worth a look on Steam. So many choices.

Being a military history buff, I find it funny how Gamespot has Jonathan Ferguson, now IGN is getting the legendary Gun Jesus Ian McCollum to do the same thing.

I have completed Days Gone in 189 hours. It is unusual for me to do all the tasks in a game and while it is possible to reset the jobs the game is done.
I thought it good value, fun. Excellent open world.
I don't think I'll uninstall it just yet because I'll probably want to visit every now and then.
I guess it's back to FC6.

ran into my first 'issue' with windows 7 this weekend. i knew it was coming...

around i think, 2007-2009, i upgraded my carpc from a intel atom/integrated mini itx to a zotac 9300 mini itx with a pentium dual core. the carpc was pulled out at the end of 2013 when i sold that car to get the brz.

ever since, i've been running that zotac 9300 as a home theater pc in some capacity. it's been slowing down over the years, about 2017, i had to finally upgrade to a graphics card, as even the desktop would stutter FPS.

it's been getting slower and slower lately despite using it almost entirely just to get around youtube ad's to display on the tv, so figured it was finally time to update to win10. after 4 complete wipes and reinstalls, it absolutely refused to ever boot with the win10 image...

so i gave up and went back to win7. but my install disk is somewhere from 2009, i believe pre-sp2. lots of security updates i know i'm missing... of course, there's no way to update it anymore, as everything was tied to the windows update server they took offline last year..

i might need to try some linux flavors, but looking around, even most linux distro's have bigger base requirements than the hardware provides.

hard for me to give up this hardware considering that it's technically operationally fine, but the requirements of newer/later/greater software have led it to obsolescence.. no one even runs zotac boards anymore...

it really is amazing how far computers have come in 10 years.

I have a large number of 8 to 10 year old computers running W10, any idea on what the issue is?

Asseto Corsa is.. weird. Very different to the PS4 version. It might be because I got a launcher program in order to install mods, and I have no idea what I'm doing. At least the game cost me $3. It plays very similar to Need For Speed Shift 2, but the setup goes a little more in detail with the ability to change weather settings and all options to make for a perfect racing condition. I have yet to get a wheel setup, all Logitech G29 wheels seem to be sold-out.

L.A Noire on PC is FANTASTIC. It is limited to 30FPS so that kind of sucks, but there's a reason behind it and it's for the face animation. Kind of stupid to have to install yet another launcher like Rockstar, in order to play a game that I bought on Steam. Then link my Steam account in order to launch Rockstar, click "Play", and then launch Steam so I can actually play the game.

I might give Halo a try, the Masterchief collection is on sale and reading the synopsis of the game, yet a bit confusing, seems interesting. I'm just not too big of a fan of futuristic type of games.

On a different note, Cyber Monday Deals!. Nothing really out there, with the new release of Intel CPUs, people have suddenly started mass-buying Zen 3 CPUs from AMD, makes very little sense to pay full price for AMD when the prices will just go down, and their supply will increase the more people start switching over to Alder Lake. The only thing that I could possibly benefit from is finding a good deal on a new PSU. I'm thinking something in the range of 800-1000W fully modular, but I don't really need it. Better storage? No, I got a very good deal a few months ago on a 980 Pro 2TB with a little price matching.

The day that I see a 5900 AMD CPU with $150 discount, it'll be time to upgrade.
