Lowering spring and wheel fitment question.
Ok guys, this may be a bit of a newbie question but here is some background info.
I am running enkei rpf1 17x9 +45 offset all around with a bridgestone re11's 245 40 17 all around with a 3 mm slip on spacer in the front to clear the front spring perch. Now that summer is almost hear I'd like to order some lowering springs. nothing to low. Maybe eibach pro kit or something else of the equivalent. I have very little room between the tire and the spring perch maybe 1/8-1/4 of an inch. With that being said will I be okay to install some lowering springs with out a larger spacer? I already am somewhat poking. |

With the setup you describe above, you will clear the perch ok. If you upsized to 255, you would still clear with a 3-5mm spacer but you might rub the innner fender liner with the tire. |

I have eibach lowering springs only I'm not sure how many inches it's dropped, but I want to know what's the best setup I can have so the wheels sit flush & without rubbing on the strut

How is the ride feeling? I plan on doing a similar set up, but I'm looking into 18s with the Rpf1s.

I am on TRD springs with roughly an inch drop all around, and I am running 17x9 +42 and 245/40/17 Hankook Evo2's square. Zero rubbing issues, and the fitment is PERFECT. I have about a credit card clearance on the strut perch, but I drove it really hard this weekend after mounting and breaking in the tires on Saturday morning. The ride was smoother than the stock tires and wheels because the hankooks are a bit softer (win/win with ride quality and grip, but more road noise). Wheels are ROTA Grid-V in two-tone polished/matte bronze, got them from Wheeldude, recommended for ROTA purchases.
I am running only -1 degree of camber on the front, and to tuck the wheel a bit more under the wheel well I should be running more like -2ish, so that is on my list to do in the near future. Will be getting camber bolts and seeing what I can get comfortably. When people say the best upgrade you can do to these cars is a good set of wheels and tires.......... take their word for it. The car came alive on some mountain runs, and gave some STI's a run for their money. Next is brake pads and and maybe a front sway/bushings. |
