Muffler Delete sound without deleting muffler
What would the exhaust sound be like if you just drilled a hole/s into the piping pre-muffler?
Ok you are thinking...ghetto...but... I ask because: A. For track laps I want to hear the exhaust for determining when to shift. B. Recent anecdotal evidence has shown that the stock muffler acts as a pseudo diffuser and if removed will create a fair amount of lift in high speed corners (track). Would this sound terrible? Or would it sound sorta like a muffler delete pipe (which I have used already). |

In either case, though, I'd be a little worried about damage from hot exhaust back there. You've seen the pictures of bumpers melted off, right? --Dan Mach V |

If your looking to keep your oem muffler and in the same time seeking a performance upgrade, you might want to look into a gutted stock muffler.
We have them if you are interested |

Why hasn't anyone created a nice functional diffuser already so we can ditch this stock can once and for good? ![]() |

If you really want the stock muffler but sound. Buy a muffler delete and hack away the piping on the muffler that would get in the way.

So just keep the muffler with its hangars, and install my muffler delete pipe? That could work if I decide to mutilate the stock axle-back.... hmmm
