Puget sound Tint option that won't break the brake light

So I asked the dealership how much it would cost to tint my windows and they said $400 and they promised not to break the 3rd brake light.

Is this a good value or should I seek out a local tint shop for a better rate?

Too much. You should be able to get it done for ~200 from a good shop.

I paid $230 for tint. The guy's a legend around here and didn't break the brake light. Keep shopping around!

There's a guy in Bellevue I was thinking about going to for my tint, charges $295 but you might be able to find cheaper

Dealers outsource tinting to local shops. If you buy a new car Auburn, WA the tint is done at Dealer Xpress. They do good work and I'd recommend them.

Between $200-250 is the right price for tint.

I just got off the phone with Mark at Eurotech Bodywerkes.

http://www.eurotechbodywerkes.com/ww...m/Welcome.html

They do all kinds of high end restoration work along with tint and clear bra (they use Venturshield). He said he's a fan of the 86 and he be happy to do the work.

He quoted me some rough numbers until he can look at the car but he said the Clear bra (bumper/lights/partial hood and fenders) at $650-750 and Tint @ $200-275 depending.

I called Guardline in Puyallup as well and they were priced very well and have the "special tool" for the rear brake light. Something like $800 or so for the standard package clearbra and tint. However, Puyallup is really far away and it's a major inconvenience so I don't know if that will work. Very good over the phone btw.

Lastly I'm waiting on Jay's Tint shop to call be back (Kirkland) for a quote. I had them tint my windows on a car about 8 years ago and they did a good job so we'll see what they say.

I'm actually surprised they didn't return the message today. I guess I'll be going to Eurotech.

Talk about Tint shop ADD.

I finally talked to Jay's Tint shop. I made two appts. One for bra and one for Tint since I wanted the bra on asap. They are in Totem Lake in Kirkland and were the best value for what I was looking for.

Bra = Bumper, headlights, sideview mirrors, partial hood, partial fenders, under door handle. They also prep the paint as well before applying the film.

Tint = All windows (except windshield) at legal tint.

Package deal for all was $850. Couldn't say no.

edit: P.s. I pick up my car in an hour. oooooooohhhh yeahhhhhhh..

$200ish for tint eh? I don't mind driving 20-30miles to get a good deal. Keep me posted on your search for good deals in WA.
