Scions finishing touches??
Alright so I bought scions finishing touches with my car but it turns out out they hadn't even applied it to the car when I bought it. If I had known I would have just taken it off the price tag -_-
but anyways the called and told me so I scheduled an appointment to get it done. I still don't know What exactly it is, I assumed it was like an opti coat but it doesn't seem like that. I'm starting to notice surface scratches on my car and if WhaIt I paid for didn't protect my paint then What Did I pay for? And how do I know if they actually applied it on the car? I hope somebody can shed some light on this subject. |

So did you complain to the dealer or what? because this is a large amount of money paid for what seems like nothing. |

They are scratching your paint using the same dirty rags they use to clean the other cars.
Cough up $350 and have a professional detailer do a paint correction to polish those scratches out. Then have him use opti or wolf's hard body over the paint. I like Wolf's way better plus it is scratch resistant. You NEVER EVER EVER let a dealership touch your paint, wash your car, prep it, anything. Also, you never buy something that you have no idea what exactly it is. You can't just assume it might be an opticoat like you did. And, you never buy addons from the dealership as they are pure profit for them. Shame on them for selling these BS services and shame on you falling for it. Use it as a learning lesson bro. Don't let them offer to fix it.

Nothing is ever 100% scratch resistant, even opticoat. I would see if you could get a refund and pay for an independent detailer. As suggested earlier, don't ever let the dealer touch your paint.

btw i found a rag that they had used in my trunk when i got home with the car. Its not microfiber and it looks like it would put micro scratches on the paint, so im going to use this as evidence against them as well.

Good call dude. I didn't mean to sound like I was coming down on you. The truth is I made a similar mistake awhile ago and seeing what happened to you brought me back to the rage I had with a dealership.
I hate dealerships with a passion. I wish I could just call Subaru and order a car from them

The word scratch "resistant" implies it is not 100% scratch proof

Yeah, they offered to fix it but I told them that I will be taking my car to a detailing shop from now on.
