Picked up wheels/tires/transponders from Tire Rack yesterday, installed them today.
Drove for about 45 minutes/25 miles before the TPMS light popped up. I’ll need to schedule a visit to the dealer so the new ones can be registered to the car. Will post an update as soon as I can get in.

After installing my new wheels, my TPMS light came on after driving for only 15 miles.

Unfortunately, I think it's fair to assume that if something isn't clearly documented in the Owner's Manual then it doesn't work.
Thanks Subaru and Toyota...

Unfortunately, I think it's very clear that it says that you are supposed to go to the dealer, so they can register a second set of tires.

I was hoping that there was a tool that I can use, that I already have, or I can buy for a reasonable price.
The tool that I have that has the highest chance of success would be my Launch X431 Pro, but I don't have any more software updates allowed, it expired in November (unless I pay another $400), so it won't have any 2022 model year info in it. So, the only chance is if Subaru has used the same programming in the past, and my tool would still work.
If that doesn't work, I was hoping to buy a $50-$100 TPMS tool to do the job.
I probably won't have to install that set of tires for at least a year from now, so I have some time to figure it out by then.

Update:

Took car to dealer, they were able to manually program/enter the TPMS devices from Tire Rack. I can now chose between the ones that came with the BRZ and the aftermarket ones. It took driving a few miles before the tire pressures began showing on the dash, but all seems to be working.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for confirming
Can you please confirm which exact sensors did you order / receive?
Do you have photos of the sensors, or were the tires and sensors already mounted on the wheels?

Sensors were already mounted when I picked up the wheels/tires. The invoice shows them to be Pacific 315Mhz 4NM, part number S169 1230. They were $42/ea.

Hope this helps!

Same sensors that I got from Tirerack.

After getting to the dealership, how long did it take them to register the new sensors?

I am going out on Thursday of this week or early next week for my dealership to register mine.

Thanks.

Great to hear it worked. Did they drill you with labor hours...?

It seems like TPMS 5 is not backwards compatible with the new BRZ.

Got some Series Blue wheels for winter and both Costco and Subaru could not pair it to my 22 BRZ.

Didn’t charge me, they were great about it!

Since I was the first one, they needed a bit of trial and error to make sure the programming took. Probably was an hour to hour and a half, the main issue was they couldn’t get the psi readings on the car to show. On the way home, after about 10 minutes they finally popped up on the dash.
