I don’t think Toyota needs to push much advertising. It is a hot hatch, and everyone will understand what that is by association to the competition. With over 50 million Corollas sold, people know the Corolla. Focus RS and CTR sold well enough here and drummed up enough interest despite never being sold here. I think all they have to do is show some old rally footage of the Corolla WRC and people will buy.

Here is hoping it sits right around the type R at 35-37K. Anything past this will be to much money. Think about it.

GR86 Low end, GR Corolla, 2.0T Supra(really stupid) and then big boy 3.0 Supra

That’s what I was thinking. It’s a real easy way to complete the “3 Brothers” performance lineup Toyota wanted. Even though the Supra is suppose to end production in a couple years and who knows how long the GR86 will be around this time.

In general, Toyota doesn't do much model specific advertising anyway does it? Most of what I see is more across the brand advertising. (Toyota-thon, or come see all the great middle of the road vehicles we have, that sort of thing).

I think I've only ever seen two ads that were specific to the 86 (one was the FRS driving through the mountains I saw once in a movie theatre, and the other is the one with the bad CGI explosion in the background I saw once or twice on TV).

I don't believe I've ever seen a Supra ad.

The marketing I’m referencing is how with the GR86, they went hard on the AE86 angle. Coincidentally the AE86 chassis is the most iconic Corolla. All I’m saying as a Toyota fan myself, knowing the history, I find it interesting.

I love the GT/GR86 but it’s more of a homage to The AE86. It's not necessarily the ACTUAL successor of the line whereas this GR Corolla is the actual line descendant. I think they’ll definitely take the rally angle but to not mention it’s whole line would be a waste. But it’s not that big of a deal. Just glad Toyota is giving us a great lineup of cars

I don't watch much TV with ads, especially at home because I stream, but I have seen model specific ads. Seasonal sales events and local dealership advertisements don't focus on specific models, but Toyota does have them, and as it pertains to this topic, I have seen many Corolla advertisements over the years. Specifically, I saw one in the last few years where a Corolla Hatchback sporty model was zipping past other Toyota's sporty editions, sliding in dirt around shipping containers or something.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I stopped watching his videos after his whole "Toyota revealing car is not the GR86" with the whole BRZ and GR86 hoodlines, and it was the GR86. His "info" is like you said, all rumor mill garbage, or just flat out inaccurate.
