Don't let these MT "people" deter you from the AT. I've had mine for 18 mo now. Took 10th in overall PAX in my local AUTOCROSS region. It may not be AS competitive as the manual. But how many manuals have awesome downshifts. Every time.
It's a good runner, is good for about 380 hp. Like I mentioned before, Stark makes paddle extenders. The At handles FI well. Might have stall convertor issues. SSP makes AT upgrades. It is more of a blast to drive as a DD, using only manual mode. And I'm an AT driver for 40 yrs or so. On a side note,dig, can you drink coffee, eat donut and drive in rush hour traffic with a manual. But then I have seen someone, in the early 90's, Rush hour traffic, driving and removing his driver side T roof. The car being a Corvette. All I'm saying is the car is a lot of fun no matter AT/MT set up. Enjoy it. Use a search string "automatic stall converter for a BRZ" on Google.
