And THIS is why I always point out that renders and photoshops are not the real car. People get deceived and expectations get dashed.
The real thing usually is very different from the fanciful made up versions even if they are "based" upon reality.

It particularly looks under-wheeled at the rear. The front, to me, isn't too bad. I also prefer the flatter nose and hood of the render, over the curved hood on the actual. I wonder if that is allow more of a gap between the hood and the engine for pedestrian safety?

I dunno, man, it looks pretty great to me! Very very VERY glad that it's pretty much the same size, hoping actual as-tested weight is no more than ~50 lb. > my '17 PP...

I don't like the bonnet and front guard treatment. the first gen had the bulges over the wheels and in profile the bonnet fell away from the bulges in the guards to where the windscreen starts = beautiful. the new one just looks very chunky across the bonnet. |

right, and i never said they were infallible. what i have said was the bestcar rendering matches the spied test cars pretty close and probably will give us a good general idea of what's to what to expect.

This model will be available in Japan too right? Is there any word on when Toyota might release their version? I feel like for the original model both were released at the same time but I can't remember for sure.

You can look at a current car and get a "general idea" of what it will look like. .
