I love how skeptical Moog has been about it, and yet how much he loves it by the end.

wow it's been a long time since I posted here.

He was reallllly leaning on the nannies. Having full on and having it cut so much definitely killed a ton of momentum.

I lol'ed when he put it in VSC sport then immediately almost loses it and the computer catches him.

And when the MX5 passed him and he was immediately triggered.

I’m impressed with their tuner. I’d like to see it on E85.

I respect that they are against "cold" air intake systems that only pull in hot air from the engine bay.

Their first gen STi build is a lot more interesting since it's an older car requiring more work.

133KW = 178hp which also equals ABOUT 162hp on a Dynojet. Correct me if Im wrong, but... not impressed.

I'm impressed by the delta and how much the curve smoothened out. The actual numbers are meaningless really.

The two dynos do not correlate like that at all. A stock 86 makes 110kw/147hp on that dyno according to the graph near the end. They made 134.4kw/180hp after tuning that is over 22% increase which is impressive and inline with gasoline gains on this engine.

When measuring on a sliding scale, there is no way to benchmark performance.
Every dyno is calibrated a little differently, WHP figures are generally useless and only give a hint of the difference. You can only tell the true difference if they have ( and did) dyno the car before touching it.
It's not like their car started out making heaps less power than any other stock BRZ- The dyno just reads differently.

If the car in stock form dynos at a measured 300HP at the wheels, it'd still be the same speed as any other stock BRZ. Do you get what I'm going for here?

Peak numbers are useless anyway. Power under the curve is really where your focus should be on any dyno graph.

Just giving some actual evidence of what theyre saying.

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139798

mustang dyno here reads low AF.

thats my bone stock car on that dyno. 148 whp 118 ft/lb tq
Gruppe S UEL header and goes to about 164 whp 125 ft/lb tq on a badly mixed E85 blend (about E40-50)

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show....php?t=140374\

different mustang dyno but reads higher.

STOCK 174 whp 135 ft-lbs technically not my own stock numbers but they obviously read higher than the dyno i went to first.

JDL 4-2-1 STOCK/UNTUNE TUNE @ e20 = 186 whp 155 ft-lbs

JDL 4-2-1 flex fuel tune @ e55 = 195 whp 164 ft-lbs

So what the MCM guys are getting in their brz isn't crazy low. its just dynos are different.
