Oil temp gauge variation.
I have a PLX DM-200 installed in my car, the original plan was to get oil temp from the obd and expand it with a boost sensor if I go FI.
But that did not work... Could not get it to show oil temps... Bought a oil temp sensor module for it and hooked it up today. I am now able to see oil temps, but its very low compared to the temp ecutek shows me. I installed the sensor in the oil gallery with a M18x1,5 to 1/8" npt adapter. Any thoughts why the readings are low? One thing i noticed is that the sensor was a very tight fit into the adapter plug i am using. Could it be that the fit is so tight that I am more or less reading engine block temp? EDIT: The tip of the temp sensor does not poke out from the adapter. I will try to enlarge the hole tomorrow to see if it readings get more accurate. I am very happy with the gauge itself, blends in really nice. Here are some pictures from when I installed the gauge. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Andreas83; 02-04-2014 at 03:04 PM. |
