Sounds like you had a bad experience. Do you wanna talk about it?

Back on the farm, back in the 40s, we only got one station that came in clear.

Most radio is owned by one person/company now and it shows. Not someone I trust either.
I remember the day I discovered I could record the radio with the volume turned down. I felt like it wasn't an ok thing to do, but when we moved I was glad I had some music I liked... Took a couple years to find a new station. Couldn't afford to buy tapes, then my sister got into Columbia house... Not really sure how she afforded it but hey.

i've got this running theory that radio really only plays 20 songs so that the finance department can minimize the number of checks they need to cut for royalty fees. i suspect that many of the songs for a given month fall under the same record label, but never really dug into it

Well, over my military career, I had one "bad" battalion commander (he didn't like me and I didn't like him). I also had a "good" battalion commander (he liked me and I liked him).

Ours doesn’t seem to give a damn. Or he just cares about meeting certain quotas. Except for one that involves people who are injured. Everyone is being way over worked so that makes my job hard since no one is able to keep up with PT. So they all become overweight or broken.

I am getting a bit of forced vacation. Came up positive for Covid. Figure I should be able to get most of the drywall work done now.

What’s funny is I suggested that I go back and work in the spring shop full time starting this Thursday. We need someone to teach the new guys. So I was supposed to spend the next few days wrapping some stuff up in purchasing. Now that isn’t going to happen and upper management, who will be covering purchasing, get to deal with it. Our service manager is also out of the office and I have been covering for him, now there is nobody to cover those calls either. I also had some manufacturing drawings to verify. Even though I have a mild case I’m thinking of taking all week just to be difficult on them.

What kind of unit does this battalion commander command?

What do you mean by "no one is able to keep up with PT"? They don't attend the sessions or they can't complete the exercises?

Back in the old Army, I had a mess sergeant that helped with the "overweight" problem. He trained his serving cooks, in the mess hall, to limit the servings of fattening foods to the "fat" soldiers.

My company medic helped the so called "broken" soldiers, by recommending the "peanut shot" be given. That separated out the really broken ones from the "just thing they are broken" ones.

HOOAH
