I washed my car yesterday and holy hell it actually looks grey now lol.

It got so filthy over the winter it was almost pavement white.

For those who think pavement is grey or even black when new you need to know what Canadian roads look like after a few good snow falls followed by many tons of SALT! Yep, our roads turn white.

Installed Hawk DTC-60 front and rear pads, with new OE rotors. Hoping they’ll be better than the Porterfield R4-Ss I had on before.

Completed Phantom ESC install yesterday. Car really scoots now. List of things to do as time permits: Innovate oil pressure/temp gauge, finish putting ARP studs on the two wheels not done yet, dash cam, Dynamat sound proofing on floorboards and roof, install Perrin oil cooler which has been on the shelf for a year., Katzkin leather seats, which probably will involve removing (for me) useless rear seats and converting that space to something more usable, though I can't figure out what that could be yet. (Can't add useless weight.)

All that should keep me occupied for a while. Car is a 2014 Monogram Edition which has many desirable extra features, IMO.

Went out into the backyard, checked on top of the right front tire and saw my battery maintainer light was still green. Took a pound of rice and an pack of baking soda and laid in the passenger footwell.

Right. Now it's a junk collector, but I hope to organize it a bit. I don't think the seats weigh much, but I read that the seat belt hardware totals about 35 pounds. I think it's also true that you get more noise in the car without the seat. On the few occasions I've used it with the seat down, I haven't paid much attention. I think I once saw a cover for that space that rolls out like a window shade.

Installed the child seat base from our travel system in the car last weekend. The base used to be in the X1, which has now upgraded to convertible child seat (currently in rear facing mode for the next few months before switching to front facing)

It has taken a bit more horizontal real estate than when i used to seatbelt strap it in without the base. So now the front passenger seat is pushed even further forward when the child seat is in use. The front seat was tolerable before without the base installed but now its barely usable lol.

Its only used for about a 5min drive to the daycare so its fine.

Car can still baby!

Installed some door illumination for my 86, that flashes when the door opens, kind of like BMW Dynamic Lighting
