Recommendations when picking up the car

Hi all!

I have finally got my order for the GR86
What do you recommend to ask or do at the dealer at the time of delivery?
I have considered:
-Do not remove protective plastics and wash it myself to make sure that they do not put it in an old car wash.
-Disconnect the fake engine noise.
-Any other recommendations?

Thank you for the help

Congrats!

Not sure the law where you reside, however. Not drilling the front plate is a good one.

More of a post delivery thing, find a local reputable shop post delivery and wash to take it to for a paint protection film or ceramic coat type deal.

when you go to pick it up, rev it until it's bouncing off the rev limiter, then drift out of the parking lot sideways before a salesman decides to alter the deal they gave you!

I did that on my test drive with the salesman in the passenger seat.

I didn't buy that car I ordered another one.

This.

When I picked up my '23, I drove it from the dealer to my house. Like 12 miles. It stayed in the garage for a 1.5 weeks until I was able to take it to my detailer for PPF on the front bumper and headlights and ceramic coating for the entire car.

Definitely turn off all the "nannies"and back it into a curb leaving the parking lot.

But for real, see if you can prevent them drilling the front bumper, or at least make sure they do it straight if they're required by law. Also, don't let them stick a stealership sticker on the back (unless they've negotiated advertising rates with you of course).

I got a real thing to look for. Check the cars VIN# against your paperwork and your insurance. You need insurance on the car before you can drive it off the lot. The sales guy will text or email you the VIN to give to the insurance co for your policy.

My sales guy sent me the wrong VIN for a different BRZ. I did not find out until I applied for a personalized license plate. The state rejected my application because I did not have insurance on MY car. I had it on someone else's car for 6+ months. Insurance Co straightened it out. BUT if something happened in those 6 months I would have been screwed.

Most all insurance companies have a new car grace period of 7 to 30 days when you buy a new car. It's just a good idea to call them and let them know asap.
