Do you use your teeth to handbrake
Just wanted to know what everyone's thoughts were on using your teeth to engage the handbrake. I have to functional hands and know of the proper technique but will continue to go against that and use my own methods.
I'd just like to know of real reasons why I shouldn't do it: Like: my teeth will crack in 20k miles tops not like: you won't have enough reaction time, will get confused and run over a Ronald Mcdonald birthday party. |

This really isn't much more a troll than some of the other recent "driving technique" inquiries that aren't even inquiries, but a statement of horrible intentions...

I've been using my teeth to hand brake for quite a while. What I notice is that I loose most of my visibility but in regards to drifting it works quite well! I can now keep both of my hands on the wheel and have control of my car much much better than I did with 1 handing a drift turn. I have seen some teeth marks arise on my handbrake and it might wear it out a little bit quicker but in all honesty I say you should definately go for it! you should be 50% better in your day to day life by doing so.

Tongue only, that's the way they do it in Europe. Using teeth is the mark of an unskilled driver.

Whenever I want to power brake, I open my door and put my left foot down heel first to slow the vehicle down and guide it through the turn. I learned for this trick during motocross and it seems to translate well.
For those of you that seem to think this is a bad idea, these are just opinions and I'm going to continue anyways even though I asked for your advice. Also, a monkey visited me from outer space and gave me magic foot powers, so I'm not exactly a normal case example. If my foot doesn't work well enough, I use my middle leg |
